Dr. Tammie Young was my sister's oncologist. My sister came home many times expressing to me how she felt like Dr. Young didn't care much for her because she was Black. She said she never spoke to her when she would pass her while she was waiting for her appointment. There were many days she waited for hours for her appointment and they would wait until the last minute and ask her WHY was she there. Only to reschedule her appointment for another day. My sister was in remission from breast cancer. However, she made complaints to Dr. Young about other issues she was having. Tests were done and EVERYTHING was FINE is what she was told. This went on for an entire year. She saw Dr. Young every two weeks. Approximately two- three weeks before my sister died, Dr. Young performed several tests on her an a sudden urgency finally comes to start treatments because she NOW has CANCER in the brain, lungs, liver, bones, shoulder, foot, and blood according to Dr. Tammy Young. People trust doctor's with their lives. If she don't like Blacks at least refer them to a doctor who doesn't see color but human being. This was murder. I don't recommend Dr. Young to ANYONE that's still alive.

Dr. Young has really been there for me through my cancer journey, I completely respect her. But, her staff, especially nurse Helen(phone nurse)has been down right hateful and neglectful. She needs to work where she isn't in a position to negatively effect cancer patients who are fighting for their lives or recovering. She should be fired!!!! Very hateful and very unprofessional!! She acts like the patient is bothering her and her or the doctor doesn't have time to be bothered. When I called with a question about side effects from a medicine Dr. Young had prescribed me, She actually told me, Dr. Young is busy savings lives right now, like she did yours, remember!!!! I hung up crying, nobody, I mean NOBODY has to remind a cancer survivor that they went through cancer, I promise!!! She should not be working with humans, maybe she needs to be a garbage handler, because that's how she made me feel. Instead of helping patients, which is what she is paid to do, she is demeaning and mean and brushes there health concerns aside. NOT what her job is!!!!! Helen needs to leave!

She lied to me about my husbands progressions, had not the decency to contact me of his cancer's progression, rather informed me chemo was "working vey well."
I could see his decline and begged for a clinical trial recommendation and again was assured all was well.
Less than two weeks later, I took him to be hospitalized for weakness, one of her associates I had never seen or heard of called me outside his hospital room one morning to inform me Arrangements were being made to send my precious husband home by ambulance to be met by Hospice.
I begged to speak with Tammy Young because she had just told me how well the chemo was working, only to be told she was unavailable.
Yesterday marked two years of his passing.
He was my family's world, to her obviously just another chart and paycheck.
I have finally reached a point that I've been able to forgive her. I wouldn't recommend her to another person I know.
Hopefully your story ended in a positive note.
Sadly I was lied to and I lost the love of my life all this while being misled by Tammy Young.

MOST WONDERFUL, CARING DOCTOR I HAVE EVER MET. KEEPS YOU WELL INFORMED AND FEELING OPTIMISTIC IN THE FACE OF CANCER. REFUSES TO ALLOW YOU TO BE IN PAIN. ANSWERS EVERY QUESTION. THERE FOR YOU DAY OR NIGHT. AN ANGEL!
