Being in the Insurance Business for 47 years, I have met and dealt with thousands of Doctors. Dr. Jernigan is without a doubt the finest physician that I have ever met. I have and would trust him with my life. He is caring, compassionate and experienced. If he doesn't know the answer to a question, he will say so, will get the answer, or refer you to someone who can give you the answer. He is friendly, humorous, and I feel like he is more a friend than a Doctor. I had injured my hand and called his office to see if he could get me in. The receptionist informed me that Dr. Jernigan was at lunch and that I needed to go to "Care-First' immediately. I asked her to please tell Dr. Jernigan what had happened. As I was on my way to "Care-First," my cell phone rang and it was Dr. Jernigan. He told me that he would head back to his office immediately and that he would meet me there. He took care of the problem and cut short his lunch hour for me. You do not see many people like this any more and I can not say enough good things about him. The best Doctor that I have ever met!

He volunteers at the sheryl watson free clinic and my experience with him has been wonderful.hes compassonite and does not rush to get u out of the room.he tells it like it is which is a great quality in my opinion.

I found him to be rude and lacking in both manners and compassion. After a brief examination he asked me to his office where he was dictating the details of my visit. He would ask me a question and continue to talk into the microphone without even listening to my reply.

He would make a great primary care physician IF you could get an appointment with him. Unfortunately, the office staff makes this facility unbearable. When calling for an appointment, expect to be on hold for a minimum of 12 minutes BEFORE you actually talk to anyone. If you need a sick visit with this doctor, you'll need to plan your illnesses around his schedule. His office will not schedule appointments unless you call the same day, but even if you call when the phone lines open, "he has no availability" for that day. If you need a referral to a specialist, plan on driving all the way to the office to pick it up. They refuse to fax it or even give the number over the phone. If you need a refill, plan on forking out your copay. You won't get a refill without an office visit. To top it all off, if you need to leave a message for your doctor, you'd better hope he's available, because "our doctor's don't like to have messages left on their desks". PLEASE...Save yourself the headache...

very good doctor like me he is stubbon but we get along fine . he knows his medicine.just do what he tells you to do.

I have been going to him since I was little. He is a great doctor and very knowledgable! I have moved out of town and still travel to go see him when I'm sick.

Dr. Jernigan has been my PCP for about 10 yrs now. He's a "straight-shooter". We've developed an excellent working relationship over the years based on mutual respect and trust. He's compassionate and supportive without coddling. Also, if he doesn't know something, he isn't afraid to admit it, and doesn't hesitate to look it up! Quite a refreshing quality in a Doc!
