I found Dr. Kwon to be very personable. He Is not your usual run of the mill doctor, but I find it refreshing. Very knowledgeable and thorough. Thank you.

They canceled my appointment for no good reason the day before I was supposed to see him. They claimed I should see a spine doctor. I have a shoulder issue and Dr. Kwon is a shoulder man. Staff then claimed, out of nowhere, I have a possible sciatica condition. Nothing of the sort! I told her the sciatic nerve has nothing to do with the shoulder. That fell on deaf ears. They just did not want to see me and were afraid to tell me whatever the REAL reason was. I am lodging a complaint with NYU.

I needed shoulder surgery because I had a tear on my rotator cuff. I went to see Dr. Kwon. He gave me my options to which I decided for the surgery. I had my surgery on January 18th, 2022. That's right. 2 weeks ago. I'm feeling pretty fine. I have almost no pain. Only have pain if I move my arm upwards which is to be expected. I started physical therapy. I have almost no scar! Dr. Kwon did a beautiful job. I am so greatful. I highly recommend him as the best Orthopedic Surgeon.

Dr. Qwon's staff and assistants were kind, courteous and attentive to my needs throughout, and I am very pleased with the outcome, and grateful to Dr.Qwon for his thoughtfulness, courtesy and professionalism, and of course great skill and expertise in performing the procedure. Reattachment of my triceps tendon. Go to him with confidence for any shoulder and elbow related surgeries, he is absolutely the best! I highly recommend him.

Horrible experience.
Dr. told me to stop talking when I tried to explain my problem. No bedside manner.
Comes off as not caring at all.
I would absolutely never recommend this doctor.

Rotator cuff surgery was 'unsuccessful' as he put it
He then wanted to do a shoulder replacement
I'm 75 and will live with very limited mobility but no pain
I'm so sorry I chose him

Run the other way & don’t waste your time! Had consult & while staff was cordial, he met me for5 minutes, was unhelpful & offered no options but “guessed” my problem was exacerbated by tears in rotator cuff which I should just bear as he “didn’t want to touch me” — no bedside manner, no options BUT as I read other reviews I think this was a blessing in disguise as I don’t think he would be the best & most skilled to help me.

All the people here must have seen a different Doctor than I did. He cut me off perhaps once when I started to ramble a bit , but rightfully so. He couldn't have been more professional and to the point with a good sense of humor.. Very friendly bedside manner. I had an MRI done and he presented my options to me. I would not hesitate to go to him again should I choose the option of surgery. I feel he's been u fairly maligned here.. IM 63 and I've been to a LOT of doctors. Dr. Kwon is tops in my book--Signed, satisfied from Brooklyn.

He repaired both of my shoulders (removed bone spurs, cut away frayed labrum, reattached labrum to bone with anchors) 1-2 years apart. The first surgery was uneventful and he was cordial before surgery, then indifferent at follow up, but everything went well. Second one he was late/rushed for consult and made a really stupid remark right before I was taken in to surgery. I woke up at some point to hear him yelling at whoever was working on or just closing up my shoulder. The nurse told them I was awake and they gave me a sedative. He was a real jerk at post op, didn't care about my pain at followup, nor what the physical therapist was saying, nor care what a post-op MRI report said. I suffered for a year until things finally got better. All of that said... 6-7 years later I am happy with both of my shoulders. I have 100% mobility in one and zero pain in the first. The other zings me once in a while but has great mobility. Both are like brand new compared to what I had. I think he is a good surgeon but I'm not sure if I would choose him again.
