I have heard several complaints of his arrogance, but I did not find him to be so at all. He answered all of my questions in a very direct manner and has helped me to greatly improve my life. Polite and thoughtful even when dropped in for an emergency conversation after starting my medication, as I had an unexpected reaction.

By far the worst arrogant #@$& Ihave ever had the misfortune to have mistreat my daughter. When I questioned him about the antidepressants and suggested they were having a negative impact he simply said ok just stop taking them, refused to forward medical records, Dr. Latimer is not interested in your well being only in lining his pockets from his $@#& clinical trials.

I seen this doctor many years back for multiple health reasons. I had to go to him due to disability through work and it was mandatory that I do a psychiatric evaluation for a physical injury...??? He gave me samples of depression medication, switched me through many different types over months of seeing him. Through multiple sessions he then wrote a big report on me that was by far not important to my healthy recovery. As far as I’m concerned he is a complete joke. Based on the certificates he places on his wall above his desk I would be in no position to question his education but as a person he is of no use to helping people. I had injured my body and my mind was showing signs of damage done from physical limitations. The meds didn’t work and he wouldn’t listen to my symptoms. He is a sponsored pill pusher with no interest in negative feedback. Strait sell out lacking social development and holds no ability to isolate any recovery in the mind body connection. If you take him seriously or trust him then your weakness will be your own downfall.

I have only seen Dr. Latimer once because it was required. He said after one paper question sheet, about 15 minutes of talking, computer questions and a dull dot test that I have ADHD, which I do not. I took the meds for ADHD and they made me so much worse because I do not have ADHD. This was very frustrating for me as I needed help to concentrate and he did nothing to help me. I have anxiety which is why I can't concentrate not ADHD.

I had been seeing Dr. Latimer since 2009 since I was first diagnosed with bipolar 1 because of a psychosis. It took me several years to come to trust him and feel safe. Depending on how I was feeling or doing he would see me each month at least once, sometimes every two weeks or week if necessary. I trusted him with my mental health.
I went into see him the beginning of 2017 for a scheduled appt. We talked briefly and wrote me a year worth of my presciptions. When I asked him when my next appt. was he said there wont be one Im closing shop. Then he said I have 200 other people I have to tell. When I asked for the reason why he completely avoided my question. I asked him who I would see as his replacement and he said try mental health and that was it. He stood up and walked out of the room. I was not only devasted because he was leaving just like that, but the town I live in and the surrounding areas dont take any new patients as they are all full. The mental health worker didnt even know where I could go. He also was the only Dr. that had a drop in clininc one day a week for referrals.
I tried everywhere . So did my family Dr. I was more than pissed off that he ended our short session with a good bye and no compassion at all or suggestions to maintain my mental health. His sudden departure makes me think there was more to it than meets the eye.
Completely disappointed at that point in his dismissive attitude and no explanation or help.

Dismissive, neglectful, and dishonest.
I was expecting a day long assessment for thousands of $$$. I got an hour and 15mins and told less than half of my situation. I was still charged thousands, which was expected from me prior to the assessment.
Shameful and negligent treatment from someone who is supposed to help people, yet does not follow the standards and guidelines of practice as set out by the college of physicians and surgeons in relation to patients rights.

This Dr. helped me so much in a very little amount of time. He ascertained that I was not suffering from depression but circumstances. He insisted that my life would get better if I took charge of it and I did and I have never looked back. Thank you for treating me like a worthy human being and taking the extra time to speak with me as a fellow person.
I don't usually rate but I DO check ratings. I am shocked at some of the comments here and believe that if you aren't ready to be helped you can't be. TY

I have waited years to get the courage to “rate Paul Latimer” I will not use the term doctor where that narcissistic is concerned. I went to him with anorexia/bulimia and for a young girl confused and vulnerable I was a perfect target for his twisted behaviour of blame and shaming. Others I have met have told horrific stories about this man, why and how is he still practicing?!! Please if anyone reads this do NOT let anyone you love near this man!!

Dr. Latimer agreed to see my husband and me for a psychiatric evaluation. We had sent him basic medical information by email and he agreed to see us for this evaluation. We took a binder of additional medical information from doctors for him to review. We were looking forward to getting help. After reading through the medical information for about 10 minutes, Dr. Latimer told us to leave. I pleaded with him to help my husband, but he said no. He said we could get help at the mental health centre. We had already tried there. The refusal for help was devastating to my husband, and he broke down completely. He developed what is called an acute distress syndrome. He was unable to work and has never recovered. I didn't know a complete breakdown could so utterly destroy a person. I do not understand why Dr. Latimer couldn't have at least spent the time of the appointment with us. At least offering some reassurance and hopefulness if he did not want to take the case. But, he didn't. He literally told us to leave because he didn't want anything to do with us. He said he had a life to live. This abrupt dismissal and disregard was horrific especially for someone so mentally fragile.

My son was referred to Dr. Latimer for my his depression and anxiety. We were thrilled when we FINALLY got an appointment and were about to see the Doctor. Throughout the course of the appointment, Dr. Latimer basically said that my son's inability to attend school was my fault... I should force my 6'4" 16 year old son to go to bed earlier and make him get up in the morning. Inferred that I was a terrible parent. I was devastated. It was not until I connected with another parent whose child was walking a similar journey as my son, that I discovered that Dr. Latimer had said the same thing to him. I believe that this Doctor should not be practicing and should be reviewed by the governing board.
