Cookie cutter analysis which wasn’t helpful

I have been a patient for years. He has been great to me. Some mean reviews here, probably because he deals with a lot of unstable people. I have seen some rude people in the waiting room at times being so awful to the receptionists. He has treated me for my Narcolepsy for years and I am thankful for his care.

On the phone Dr. McFayden came across as incredibly condescending, one dimensional and robotic. He seemed to be talking down to me the entire conversation. He seemed to be following a script. It was a very awkward conversation and he just kept repeating himself verbatim and seemingly checking to see if I understood what he said. He asked if I had any questions but it was very clear he didn’t care if I had any questions. Not impressed with this interaction at all. Very poor communication skills. 0/5 for the dr. 5/5 for the staff in the clinic.

Dr. McFayden is amazing! As is the staff. They are always so kind and so helpful and compassionate too. Dr McFadden has been my sleep doctor for a few years now and I couldn't imagine where my life would be at had he not helped me. If I could give 10 out of 10 I would. Non judgmental and knowledgeable on sleep issues this whole place is great.

I just read some of the previous reviews and I am not sure everyone else are seeing the same doctor as I saw.

I found him to be very awkward and difficult to talk to or deal with. It was like every conversation he had with me was somehow pre-written or scripted and he was reciting it, I know it wasn't but just comes across as odd. Found him to be one dimensional, and not open to anything I had to say. He was there to tell me what he wanted to tell me and really just stayed on script. You can't really have an open conversation with him is what I am trying to say.

I can't say he was unpleasant, but he wasn't pleasant either, just hard to describe, robot like or machine like. Saw him maybe 4 or 5 times, each time was the same. I did not get anything from him that helped me at all.

Found him to be confrontational and unpleasant. Also not helpful at all. He has tried me on three different medications, none of them work for me, and last time I saw him he basically said, he doesn't know what else he can do other than prescribe these medications and because the weren't working for me there's really nothing else he can do. I suggested a different medical condition I am experiencing may be causing my sleep issues based on some medical journals I have read, but he just said he doesn't know about that, and wrote it off without being willing to research it a little. This leaves me frustrated and still incredibly tired.

I’ve been seeing him for some time now. He’s great. Their clinic is probably one of the best around.
