Based on my experience & opinion I would not recomend Dr Herzog , the office wait is over 2-3 hours most of the time , i was told that my surgury was not able to be done laprascoptic by Dr Herzog . He only offered me two choices ( robotic or sliced open
) He said I had no other choices but what he was able to do , I was scheduled and than rescheduled with him for surgury , so lucky me I went for a second opinion in between the time period & guess what I had my laprascopic procedure ( Better recovery & les scaring ) done with a professional surgeon I was recommended to :)

Dr Herzog does present a great bedside manner - until you question him. Upon exam he confirmed I had a prolapsed bladder so surgery was scheduled. My family subsequently posed a few reasonable questions regarding the procedure that I could not answer, so in a follow up appt for a bacterial infection I asked about the procedure type Dr Herzog intended to use and he directed me to, "Go look it up on YouTube." He further added in the same annoyed tone, "You can go get a second opinion. Go to Manhattan and pay $30,000 cash for the same surgery by someone I probably taught, and I'm going to make about $36 after expenses." Frankly, it was such an unnecessary and bizarre overreaction that I lost confidence in his priorities. I canceled the scheduled surgery with him. Unfortunately, he had prescribed only 5 days of antibiotics for the vaginal infection for which I understand 7 days is the standard protocol, Not surprisingly the infection did not clear. After calling his office for several days to get the results of the follow up culture, FINALLY I received a return call informing me that an oral antibiotic was called into my pharmacy. No other information was provided to me. Having never taken this newly prescribed drug before I read the side effect packet provided by the pharmacist and the information prompted me to Google a few questions. Ultimately, I preferred to take an equivalent antibiotic which I read was also commonly used for this exact bv, and which I felt infinitely more comfortable taking but I dreaded having to call the nurse's line to request the switch. As mentioned previously on this site by others, reaching a nurse is a brutal endeavor. It has been my experience through the years to have NEVER had a live person answer the phone, or to receive a return call the same day. When the nurse finally called me back the next day I was told that the dr knows best and"you have to have confidence in him - not the internet." I stated that I would like to be a knowledgeable participant in my own health care and the response I received was not favorable. Dr. Herzog had been my gynecologist for many years, and I've known him to be much more approachable than he is today. Caring communication is just as vital in a doctor/patient relationship as knowledge and experience
- and these traits are now sadly inconsistent in this doctor's practice.

The doctor is great when you finally get to see him. Staff rarely answers phones and never returns calls then claims they return all messages. This same situation has happened several times and during emergency calls. Won't be seeing them again and don't recommend anyone else to.

he is the WORST doctor ever. If you like to wait for 3 hours and have your appointment time at 11 or midnight he is the guy for you, says NO ONE EVER

Dr. Herzog just delivered my first child and he was great. I would suggest he gets an new ultrasound machine. The one he was using throughout my pregnancy was terrible.

I agree, dr. Herzog has ruined my life by giving unnecessary surgery. He was too aggressive and now today I suffer. He's so busy trying to sell you cosmetic surgery that he has lost his perception of what's going on now. His answer to everything is to cut it out, instead of using alternative solutions
