Dr. Riddell did an amazing surgery for my 5 year old girl. She kept getting infections from reflux and with 3 small incisions (5mm) he was able to reimplant both ureters with the da Vinci robot and she went home the next day and now my child doesn't have to take any more antibiotics

When I was 16 years old (12 years ago) I went to doctor after doctor with lots of symptoms. I knew there was something wrong with my left kidney. None of them believed me, or cared enough to listen. Then after a year of suffering I begged to see a specialist/Urologist. As soon as Dr. Riddell looked at me, he beleived me, sent me for one test and found out that i had major cysts. I had to go for a surgery and was told that I would have died within a few months if I hadn't found him, possibly days if my cysts would have ruptured. If it wasn't for him I would have died as a teenager. He is a great man and Doctor.

I would never consider allowing this doctor, Jonathan Riddell, to treat and/or perform any type of surgery on my child. He diagnosed my child with a high grade of kidney reflux and wanted to perform a ureteral reimplantaion on him/her. This is an extensive surgery -- my child is almost 5. Upon obtaining multiple second opinions, all of which were from pediatric urologists recognized in the country, my child was diagnosed with low grade, 2, kidney reflux, on ONE side. He/She was put on antibiotic prophelaxis, and hasn't had any infections to date. The two pediatric urologists, aside from Dr. Riddell, we saw explained that most children with low grade kidney reflux grow out of it by age 5-6. Dr. Riddell wanted to perform an unnecessary surgery on my child. I hope that you will get a second opinion before trusting this doctor at his word.

Let me start by saying I never saw Dr. Riddell as a patient but they would not let me comment w/out filling out the rating numbers. With that said, I met Dr. Riddell in Thunder Bay while he was there doing a charity event. I had the pleasure of conversing with him long enough to know, without doubt, that this is a person of integrity, class, and kindness. He left such a good impression that I feel compelled to address the people who have made negative remarks here. When you malign someone publicly, as you have done here, it says far more about you than it does about the person to whom you are referring. Perhaps there should be a website dedicated to rating patients as there is always another side to every story. Sorry to know Ontario lost such a decent human being!

Dr. Riddell preformed a kidney operation on my husband in 2008 and suppositly remove all of the cancer. We had to pester him for follow up examinations after the operation. Now in December of 2010 we have found out that the premiter of the piece remove was tested positive for cancer. This mad man never mentioned this to either my husband or I. We asked many questions and he didn't even bother to tell us the trueth about any of it. Basically, he neglegted to tell us the out come of the test results in the follow ups. Why would a doctor do this. Kidney cancer is a killer. We are now going to a new doctor and I hope the news is not bad news. This has been a real big concern for my husband and I. He should be sued for neglegence.

There are no words on how to describe Dr. Riddell, he is the most amazing person.I have seen him for my children for undescended testicals and have seen him for myself with re-occuring kidney stones and he has performed surgery on me over 8 times. I am an out of town patient and one time he went out of his way to perform surgery on me between hockey games on a saturday morning. He has also called me at home to make sure i was fine. I was always able to call his office with any concerns and both him and Shirley (his secretary) were amazing at being able to help. I have always known that i have more kidney stones but recently found out that i had a large stone that might need to be removed. I was upset to find out that his office was no longer available and have been trying to figure out where he was and came upon this site to hear that he may possibly be in Montreal. I hope that he will start doing visits once again up north. His medical care will be deeply missed by many if he doesn't
