The blond female doctor in the ER is a total burned out that should be investigated. She did not beleive my ankle was broken and verbally forced me to walk on it. She decided to take an xray with the attitude and beleif that i was wasting her time. Yes it turned out to be broken in both ankle bones. My ankle was set by a nice specialist. I had to wear a cast for 9 weeks and ordered no walking. To avoid surgery, i was told bed rest for 6 weeks. Its not until the xray came back that she gave me pain medication. She tried her best to appoligize after i called her names. I consider myself a nice person but i will never ever go to that pit of a hospital again. This hospital is employed by our tax dollars. If you need to go to the er, be prepared to defend your rights to receive the care you earned.
Unbelievable this hospaitsl is even open. Being told that a health problem isn’t a hospitals problem? Than who’s problem is it?! The staff don’t care in the slightest about you and just stand around chatting. Doctors are cold and rushed. I’ve been to BGH numerous times and it’s scary the lack of care being provided. And the surgery suites in the BASEMENT?! It’s incredibly dark and dingy and dirty down there. I hope they get sued for all their worth.
Slipped and fell and broke my leg on january 21, 2018. New full well that i would have a long wait to be looked at because there were going to be people in more serious difficulty than myself. These wonderful doctors and nurses and all the support staff at bgh are terribly overworked because of the governments inability to give all hospitals the money they need to operate efficiently. I was in the hospital for four days up on 6th floor and not one sour face did i see the whole time i was there. Carson and Tracy you guys are awesome. Thank you doctor Ling for looking after me that first night. Dr. Macewan thank you so much for putting me back together. Im sure that in a month or two that i will be dancing with my wonderful wife. I know there are staff there that i haven't mentioned. Please forgive me as i cannot remember all of your names. Dont blame the hospital for any shortcomings because it is not the fault of the hospital that you are not seen in a timely manner. Blame your government. In my book BGH and all of the staff there could not be any better.
The nurses in the emergency department socialize too much and we don't care about your happiness or you ignoring me. I was possibly miscarrying and all they did is make me wait in the Yellow Zone crying. I was a uncontrolled diabetic back then from pregnancy, I was there from 10 am to almost 8pm I had not breakfast cuz I woke up bleeding. I was getting low sugar feeling, shaking confused anxiety and such. They check sugar and it was 5.? It should be 7.0 for my body. They did not give me anything for food to bring my sugar up. Also I didn't have change for vending machine full of junk food ad diabetic unfriendly pop machine. I felt ignored. And I was really angry. I left a complaint with customer complaints office saying how unacceptable that was. I had emergency D&C next morning due to missed miscarriage. I am pregnant again. If I was to deliver today ... Kingston would be my target location! Or not fast enough I'd go to Napanee. Sad how Napanee and Picton treats patient more kindness and compassion than a crap hole like BGH or Trenton Memorial. Things they need to do is tell nurses STOP SOCIALIZING AND DO YOUR JOB!!! WE PAY YOU NURSES TO DO YOUR JOB NOT SIT SHOVE YOUR MOUTH FULL OF FOOD AND GIGGLE AND WHISPER AND MAKING FUN OF PATIENT PROBLEMS THEY CANT HELP. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! YOU NEED TO ADDRESS PATIENT CONCERNS ESPECIALLY DIABETICS WHO NEED TO EAT SOMETHING. JUST BECAUSE 5.? WAS OKAY IT.MIGHT NOT BE FOR THE PERSON IF SHAKING AND ANXIETY CLAMMINESS TREAT DONT BE SO FREAKIN LAZY!!! DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR.ALL AROUND
I recently had my 3rd baby at BGH and my second "traumatic" delivery in which my baby needed immediate emergency care and wasn't responsive. Even though those were by far the scariest moments of my life thus far, I was treated so well by the staff that I was able to stay relatively calm. The response to the emergencies were fast, many, and somehow, well organized. As a teacher, I loved seeing how much education was going on and to see how many nurses and doctors are being trained. This is a very demanding field with many rewards but even more difficulties. I commend the nurses especially, and I thank everyone there for helping to bring another beautiful child into this world! Bravo!
Tried to see Doc. in E.R. last Saturday. Told him I was coughing up blood for some time and my left ankle and calf at times becomes swollen, twice the size of other foot. He informed me that he was an ER doctor and these were NOT ER problems, and as ER doc unqualified to treat me for them and walked out. I called him back and requested that he at least explain what the problem might be, he said it could be that I drink too much (I drink only at weddings) or could be heart failure. I said well as my heart was in a.fib. and had been for several days could he check. His reply as you did not tell the triage nurse so NO I will not check that out. I informed him that I had most certainly informed the triage nurse, who had confirmed I was in a.fib. His reaction was OH. and he walked OUT !!!!!!!! I have not been able to register with a doc. since coming to tis area. This hospital and doctors are the very worst I have ever encountered. No doubt This so called Dr. C Bolton will have the nerve to invoice OHIP. for his services.
