It is not easy to find a great doctor who accepts MediCal. We always felt respected and were always well treated. He preformed surgery on my son which was successful and was very good in terms of following up and making sure that he was okay. I have read other reviews of this doctor and was surprised. We have been going there for 5 years and have never had any problems.

He didn't care to know the reason why I wanted to see him. He stuck a scope up my nose and wrote me a prescription. When I began to ask questions regarding my visit, such as: My voice gets hoarse easily and I haven't been able to speak clearly for 9 days and I have chronic sinus problems is there anything I can do to change my behavioral patterns or environment to reduce these negative effects? He responded by saying, "That's what the prescription is for, and didn't you come to me because of my experience? I don't have magic hands to take this away, I am not God. That's why I have written you a prescription." His voice and demeanor was so rude I began to tear up. To this he says, "Crying and getting upset is only going to make you sicker, I suggest you stop." Needless to say, he's horrific!

an absolutely terrible experience. I went to an ent because I have been getting sore throats often. He looked in my mouth and ears and prescribed me antibiotic. No asking of symptoms or anything. I tried to tell him I went to a specialist because I feel like the problem may be severe. HE was dismissive. Said if it isn't cleared up in 10 days come back. In and out of his office in 3 minutes with a pat on the back. I'm not going to pay the amount the insurance doesn't cover. screw him. He doesn't give a crap about his patients. Time to retire!

If it weren't for the very negative comments, I would not bother with this. Dr. Purcelli is kind, polite, direct, helpful and knowledgeable. After my son's operation, he called us up (on a weekend) to check on how he was doing. He has never kept us waiting. (Many, many things influence the waiting time at a doctor's clinic.) His staff is very helpful and cheerful.

This was by far THE WORST experience I have ever had with a doctor! Condescending, rude, and impatient!! Didn't have the courtesy to come back into the room to speak to me about my diagnosis/treatment, rather, he stood in the hallway at his receptionist's desk and spewed out a list of the medications he was putting me on and didn't even tell me what was wrong with me. When I asked him what my diagnosis was he said, "Nothing, there's nothing wrong with you." When I asked him what was causing my earaches and other various symptoms, he told me I had TMJ (as if I was STUPID for not knowing that to begin with). When I questioned him about prescribing a 3rd round of antibiotics and nasal steriods if there was nothing wrong with me, he became even more rude. It was horrible!

Please follow the majority of people's advise on this page and DO NOT become a patient of Dr. Purcelli's. He is an awful doctor, is not up to date on current techniques, does not care about the patients that he treats, and is a dangerous doctor who should not be practicing medicine. Please, please, please find another ENT and don't risk being hurt by this man.

It was my first visit to Dr. PUrcelli's office due to ear problem I had. He was nice and welcoming, checked my ears and tested my hearing. I think overall it went well. I like it when doctors are quick and to the point. Office staff was also very nice.

I went in to see him a few times because white things were growing on my tonsils. He gave me penicillin. Turns out the white things were just food, caught by my tonsils. He said I had tonsilitis so he scheduled me for surgery. About 2 weeks before I was supposed to go for surgery, I started coughing. Pretty soon, I couldn't walk & talk at the same time. I saw Dr. Purcelli, & he said to just take a cough drop. I saw another doctor a week later, & she found out I was hypoxic - my lungs were only working at 40%!! She said if I had gone under surgery, I would have died!! It turns out I had hypersensitivity pneumonitis. Now, I know he's not a pulmonary physician, but he SHOULD have noticed I was hypoxic. I could of died because of his misdiagnosis. End of story. NEVER SEE HIM!!

Very rude. No hello or introduction whatsoever. The first words from his mouth were "everybody speak English"? He then begins to explain what he believes is wrong with my son in rapid medical terms. He acted extremely impatient when my wife asked questions, once emphatically stating he had just answered that question. Wife then questioned his quick diagnoses as it differed from his GP doctor. "I have been examining necks for 50 years!!!" was his response. He determined my son needed surgery - period. We naturally decided a 2nd opinion was in order. We took our son to a different ENT who was VERY patient, took a lot of time examining our son and explained to us why Dr. Purcelli's diagnoses was wrong. Surgery was not needed, in fact, my son was already recovering. We almost let our son go under the knife for NO reason. We will never, under any circumstances, go to see Purcelli again.

My second visit was much worse than my first. He did not solve my problem and actually made my ear bleed. This has never happened to me and when I showed concern he was dismissive. He would barely give me a tissue to stop the bleeding. I dont expect alot of Drs. but he is not good with people at all. I transferred to another Dr. He also explains next to nothing, and didnt run near the tests the other ENT did. I do not recommended him. His diagnosis was off and he did not seem interested in finding the root cause.
