Truly disappointed to have her replace my doctor while she’s on Mat Leave. I truly do believe she means well…but has poor bedside manner. Recommend not doing in person if possible.

I have never met her as she's just taking over for my dr who left while the practice waits for the new one to arrive. We had to discuss the issue twice to resolve it but in the end I found her very helpful. She was patient and didn't rush either visit. Easy to talk to and empathetic which left me feeling like an individual person not just a number.

My experience with Dr. Madan is very similar to many others. She diagnosed my 88 year old Mother in law with Parkinsons last March. She showed zero compassion for her. She ignored her most pressing symptoms and told her that they were not related to Parkinsons. We were forced to seek out another Neurologist as all she did was make my MIL feel stupid (she is far from it). I am shocked that she is working at Baycrest. Unfortunately, her Nurse, Cassandra seems to mirror her rude and dismissive behavior. Her new Doctor has actually written an article about stomach issues and Parkinsons. She should not be treating humans.

I have been a patient of Dr Madan for over 10 years and she has been fantastic. Always listens, supportive. Not quick to issue meds but feel she uses good judgement. Very knowledgeable and progressive with women’s health issues especially menopause and does not dismiss concerns. I’ve never had to wait long in her office and her phone appointments during covid have always been on time. She was recently extremely supportive when my father passed away. She offers helpful suggestions including medication and counselling service options. Has gone out of her way to help me and I always feel she has my best interests at heart. I would recommend people don’t make hasty judgements after one or two appointments, a good lifelong Doctor is very hard to find.

She was my doctor for over 4 years. Found her extremely impolite on many occasions, barely lets me complete my sentence. She once called me 45 mins after my appointment time. When I asked her if we could reschedule she told me she would charge me a cancellation fee. Pathetic service.

Dr Madan has been my doctor for 10+ years. She knowledgeable, kind and truely cares about her patients. She has been a huge help and supportive with my mental health. She listens and then finds a solution or does test to narrow things down. She's has a warm personality, humour and very professional.

Tries to guess what I’m about to say instead of listening.

Excellent family doctor and very thorough, professional with a huge heart. She cares about her patients and gets right to the point, extremely knowledgeable and good communicator. Her followup is exceptional and she has the best admin staff I have ever dealt with. Very blessed to have her as my doctor.

Smart, quick, direct. Extremely knowledgeable. Enough so that she is actually on board with some of my slightly outside the norm personal health interventions (Paleo, keto), and is supportive. Meetings with her are brisk and too the point. Great sense of humor.

“I do not have time to explain my 10 years of schooling. " - Dr. Monika Madan

Prior to my visit to the doctors office, I called to ensure that I would be able to get a recommendation for an allergy test by a doctor. I was told by reception that it was possible and that I should go in during the walk-in clinic hours, as I was unable to make a formal appointment with my own family doctor during the week. Upon arrival at the office, I requested to see a doctor for an allergy test and was quickly placed in a room and waited for approximately 15 minutes. Dr. Monika Madan entered the room and began asking the reason for my visit. My girlfriend and I then proceeded to explain that we would like to either do an allergy test on-site or receive a recommendation for an allergy test from her. Dr. Monika Madan proceeded to ask what our symptoms were, starting with my girlfriend, in order to understand, “Why do you feel like you need a test”. My girlfriend attempted to explain that she would like a general allergy test to be done, when the doctor cut her off abruptly, “But I’m asking why do you feel like you need an allergy test?”. Because of the rude tone and interruption when asked to answer a question, instead I attempted to explain that my girlfriend had reactions to nuts. Dr. Monika Madan turned to my girlfriend and said “Why didn’t you mention the nuts? Now he explained the nuts for you” and my girlfriend continued to explain that she had not had any recent issues with nuts but she would still like a test to be done. Dr. Monika Madan continued making notes and asked questions about my girlfriends contact with nuts and quickly dismissed her. Dr. Monika Madan then turned to me and asked my reasoning for requesting an allergy test and I explained an ongoing issue that I had, as well as new symptoms that prompted me to request the test. Dr. Monika Madan looked over my file and mentioned that my family doctor recommended an appointment with another specialist for my ongoing issues and stated that the allergy test would conflict with the specialist recommendation but was UNWILLING TO EXPLAIN how or why they would conflict. She proceeded to say that the timeline for my new issues were not sufficient enough to receive a recommendation for an allergy test. I then responded with, “I’m sorry but I do not agree with the conflicts of the tests (gastrology and allergy), can you explain why?” Dr. Monika Madan then said, “I do not have time to explain my 10 years of schooling. The walk-in clinic hours are for urgent care needs, you need to talk to your family doctor”. Dr. Monika Madan’s rude and dismissive response notified us that this consultation was not going anywhere, and she continued to state, “I am going to move on”. We continued to thank her and stated that we will contact our family doctor when they became available for a booked appointment.
