Prof Weerasooriya has given me my life back. When I first met him in 2010, he guided me through a very tough time as we tried to manage my active lifestyle whilst suffering from AF. I have always found his knowledge, confidence and patient centred approach has never faltered in the 12 years I have known him. The ablation that followed in the subsequent years has allowed me to return back to a normal life and even today, some 8 years later, I am able to compete in endurance events and live a fully active and social lifestyle thanks to Prof Weerasooriya. However, his professionalism doesn’t stop there. I have been able to call on him at any time when I have questions, issues or queries about my heart. The guy is not only the best at what he does, he provides outstanding pastoral care and piece of mind at all times. Rukshen did two ablation for AF , one in 2017 and 2018 and finally an ablation for VT. Prior to these procedures I found it difficult to train (always brought on AF or VT) and lived in constant fear of another episode. Rukshen assured me if I followed his advice we would fix all the issues with my heart. Now in 2020 I have lost 20kg and feel 10 years younger with no episodes, no medications and can train like I was 20 again. Rukshen is a kind caring doctor and is nothing short of brilliant. No one has to live with VF or VT so don't hesitate in contacting the best there is and live a better quality of life. Rukshen gave me my life back and for that I am eternally grateful. Marty Helean

Dr Weerasooriya is very conscientious of his patients and is more than willing to spend time to discuss how and why.
From the first appointment to todays final for 2 years I found both him and his staff happy and friendly. I am over the moon with the way the procedures went and his explanations for all queries i had. Would highly recommend him to all my family and friend, ( hopefully they wont need to see him)

Dr Weerasooriya fitted me with a dual chamber pacemaker two weeks ago in an emergency situation. The fact that I had previously been treated on the left hand side with breast cancer, lymph node clearance and placement of implants complicated things as I could only have my pacemaker fitted on the right-hand side, clearly wasn't a problem. Extremely kind, professional, fast treatment. He clearly sees his patients first and foremost as real people and therefore puts you at ease. I have had no trouble with the implant site at all which is healing nicely. Very thankful.

Ruskshen did an SVT ablation and removal of loop recorder for me in May 2020. He explained everything in great detail and was very reassuring. I had a few issues with nausea and feeling unwell post op. Ruksen listened and quickly readmitted me to hospital to rule out any problems associated with the surgery, which there wasn't. I cannot recommend him and his team enough. The care was exemplary. He is a truly caring cardiologist.

Rukshen did a cardigan ablation for AVNRT SVT on me one year ago. He explained everything to me well and was the first doctor to CURE me instead of just trying to treat my symptoms. I can not recommend him highly enough! I did end up with pericarditis post ablation (which has nothing to do with his technique and everything to do with my body’s hyper inflammatory drive) and he took great care of me. He actually cares about his patients as people, his bedside manner is so kind and warm. I just had my last follow up appointment and while I hope I never need an ablation again, if I or anyone I know needs an ablation, I’ll be recommending Rukshen!
