Biography
Catherine M Edwards, MD, FACE, is an associate professor in the division of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Florida. She received her medical degree from the University of Michigan and subsequently completed her internship, residency and chief residency at the University of Florida. She did a three year research fellowship, focusing on lipid biochemistry at the same institution, followed by another year at the University of Michigan working in the area of thyroid receptor molecular biology. Dr. Edwards spent seven years in the division of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, followed by 15 years in the private practice of endocrinology in Gainesville, Florida. She recently returned to academics to focus on teaching and clinical work at UF.

Dr. Edwards had a wonderful bedside manner and was very knowledgeable. After being diagnosed with a pituitary tumor by a neurologist, I had been initially referred to a different endocrinologist who made a terrible mistake during my diagnostic testing. After seeking recommendations from a number of sources, I went to see Dr. Edwards and I certainly wish I had been referred to her first. I was very impressed with her handling of my care. Sadly, there was nothing that could be done to undo the damage caused by the other doctor. But, at least I found a competent doctor in Dr. Edwards.
