I have now had cataract surgery on both eyes. My experience throughout all visits and both surgeries was excellent. I have the highest praise for Dr. Henen and his entire team. My eyesight is now like it was in my teens!

The doctor was in too much of a hurry. Was somewhat dismissive and unwilling to explain options. Waited 4 months for an appointment and then could barely get a few minutes to discuss my family member's situation. I can't even rate his depth of knowledge because my questions remain unanswered. He just wasn't helpful.

I just wanted to get a prescription renewed through the pharmacist and they had a very difficult time getting hold of him. Consequently I could not take the required drops for a week - medication I should take nightly.

I had a negative experience with this doctor and clinic. I would highlight several issues including the doctor's lack of professionalism and disregard for patient concerns, pushing patients towards surgery without discussing options, and charging high fees for no reason. Additionally, I note that the staff, particularly the front desk, were unprofessional and lacked basic competence. I have concerns about the clinic's use of public email services and illegible paper forms. It takes months to get a response to your email. You have to call and struggle to get an answer. Avoid this doctor and clinic.
The lack of professionalism, disregard for patient concerns, and pushing toward surgery without discussing options are all serious concerns that should not be taken lightly. Additionally, the issues with the staff and clinic operations suggest a lack of basic competence that is concerning. Potential patients should proceed with caution when considering this doctor and clinic.

My parents go to him for their eye care but the kind of care he provides seems more for quantity (ie $) than quality. My 81-year-old dad has real vision problems causing him dizzy spells which lead to him falling. The Dr. Henen sees him for 5 minutes and tells him everything is fine and sends him home - where he continues to get blurred vision and dizzy spells. Dr Henen is not a real care professional Imo.

Dr Henen and his team try their best to accomodate all their patients to the best of their abilities. Sometimes, The demand for an eye consult is greater than they expect. Emergency hospital nearby sends patients to Dr Henen, if he’s on call to help with the overload of the hospital. Which results in more patients than booked. And also, each patient has different eye problem therefore each treatment is different. Some people harass the staff without considering that a specialist clinic takes 2-3hrs normally for waiting time. Some wants to be seen right away. People are sooo hard to please. We’re in Canada, where Healthcare is free and population is skyrocketing. It’s not the staff nor your doctor’s fault. Everyone is just trying to do their job. Please be more considerate. They pay taxes like everyone else too. Don’t complain and treat them like they owe you anything. If you’re not pleased with their service, pls feel free to ask your GP to refer you somewhere else, where you’ll be served as per your liking.

didn't performed eye exam in detail. Just checked only for cataract and took me to the receptionist for booking of cataract surgery. I was eager about eye pressure, diabetic glaucoma etc. he spent only 3-4 minutes with me.

I am a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario and had both my eyes operated for Cataract Surgery by Dr. Henen. He is a thorough professional and is very exact in his surgical procedures. He is very serious, knowledgeable and takes excellent care of his patients especially when a problem arises as has been my experience with him.
