If it was not for Dr. Ryan and his insistence that I do not go on my cruise, I would have died. I had 3 seizures that would have occurred on the cruise and I doubt that the ship's doctor would have had the experience or the equipment to handle this situation. Thank you Dr. Ryan and your thoroughness.

Was just looking for Dr Ryan's email address & found these ratings. Was shocked to find some bad reviews! I guess everyone has their opinions..I have been a patient of Dr Ryan's and his former associate for 66 yrs (yes u probably know who this is as I always say I'm your "oldest" patient"!!) I think Dr Ryan is the best and fear the day he retires!

Dr. Ryan has been my family physician for 24 years - always knows intuitively what's wrong and immediately sets to rectifying whatever it is. Doesn't hesitate to refer to a specialist when one is needed. Will also speak bluntly (but kindly) when needed! Kind, caring and very knowledgeable!

Dr Ryan has been my family doctor for over 10 years now. He has helped me through my skin allergy problems by referring me to a specialist who is one of the best in Vancouver. When I had eye ball problem, I got to be referred to an eye surgeon, another best specialist in the field.
One thing is that he is taking a little bit more time-offs now, so I have to note his schedule for appointments.

He systematically avoids dealing with overt medical conditions -- even those supported by medical tests and physical evidence. With regards to my family member: he has had a band-aid approach; is not willing to listen or answer questions; does not do even the basic in-office tests (heart rate, blood pressure, etc.);does not refer to a specialist when one is obviously required. Displays little compassion. He's a waste of time, wants to charge and little else it seems -- this is our family's experience at least.

I would not recommend Dr.Ryan to any patient, especially a senior. My mother was showing signs of fatigue & became more frail over the past year. She was recently rushed to ER where we found out that she has a severe heart condition and spent several weeks in the hospital. I went with my mother to see Dr. Ryan after her hospital stay and had several questions regarding medications that specialist`s had prescribed and included instructions to follow-up with her family doctor. When I asked Dr. Ryan some questions, he accommodated, but was quite condescending. If a doctor is good at their job but has a poor "bedside manner" so to speak, that is one thing but it is very concerning when a doctor goes out of their way to make a rude and unsolicitied comment to a family member for no reason. Disappinting for someone in this profession.
