I had rotator cuff surgery with Dr. McKay. Since surgery, I have had serious mobility issues - perhaps worse than before surgery. This despite following instructions to the T on wearing the sling and undertaking physical therapy. His staff and punctuality were fine but I wouldn't recommend him based on the results of the surgery.

Super personable to work with. Explained the surgery and alternatives well. Surgery replacement surgery went well and recovery was a breeze. Highly recommend.

After 40 years of chronic pain from a service connected injury for which the government has taken no responsibility, Dr McKay repaired my severed biceps tendon among other maladies and I have my life back. This man is a craftsman of the finest stripe.

Can’t say enough great things about this doctor - I asked around and the only one that could repair it in Olympia through the scope without opening up the shoulder - so I made an appointment. Had a bad tear in my rotator cuff in my shoulder - he was able to repair it all through 2 tiny holes in my shoulder. I wore my sling, and did the physical therapy - and it’s like a brand new shoulder!! After years of abuse, I didn’t think this shoulder would ever be the same - and now it’s good as new! He is a miracle worker and I will be forever grateful.

I wasn't having a lot of pain, but they did an xray, then a ultrasound. Dr. Mckay let me make the decision for surgery, so I decided to before I got any older and they wouldn't do the surgery as of age. So glad I did for when he went in all kinds of problems that he had to fix. Doing good now and very pleased I was referred to a good doctor. Wonderful....

I have been seeing Dr. McKay for a few years and have had to have a few shoulder surgeries. I was so lucky to have been referred to him for my shoulder conditions. I can't explain how much pain I had been in before finally being diagnosed an surgically repaired. With my condition(s), I will be seeing Dr. McKay for quite some time but I would not want anyone else to treat me. He takes the time to listen and treat me as a priority at my appointments. He is the best and did refer a friend of mine to him. She was diagnosed, had surgery and is doing spectacular! I have and will continue to refer anyone to him.

During 3 visits to McKay's office I have waited over an hour(past my appointment time) to be seen each time. I had a serious injury to my knee several months ago and had an MRI. The image did not show an obvious injury, but showed fraying behind the knee cap. On 1st visit McKay stated he believed I had a torn meniscus but recommended PT. 2nd visit was a steroid injection with more PT gearing up for possible surgery. 3rd visit, McKay acted as though I had a phantom injury and stated that my insurance would not cover a "exploratory surgery". McKay told me that my injury is in my head and that my knee collapsing on me 3 separate times now causing me to fall is also in my head. I am a healthy, very active person and have NEVER had ANY issues with my knee prior to this injury. I left McKay's office with NO idea what just happened or what has happened to my knee. I am seeing a new Orthopedic Specialist and will keep you posted. I would NOT recommend Dr. Trent McKay to anyone. After what just happened in his office, there is NO WAY I would trust him to cut into my body or preform any type of surgery for me. Please use extreme caution if you choose to be seen by him.

McKay removed ossicles and shaved some bone down in my knee that was contributing to quite a bit of my knee pain. I didn't realize how much until after surgery , recovery, and rehab. My knee feels excellent and I have returned to full activity (soccer). I would recommend him for surgery. Nice, effective, knowledgable and gets right to the point.
