Dr. Mcrea is a excellen

Dr. McRae performed a bilateral mastectomy on me in November 2016. He explained the procedure and what to expect after the surgery to my family and me. Dr McRae was very instrumental in helping me get my daughter back in the states before I had the surgery. I have nothing but good vibes about this physician as a matter of fact he will be inserting my port so that I may receive chemo. Thanks Dr. McRae for being concerned about my well being.

Excellent surgeon and great bedside manner. Performed emergency surgery for colitis after a misdiagnosis by another surgery.

I would NEVER recommend this surgeon to anyone. He has no personality, and rushes through his surgeries. I still have hemorrhoids even after the most painful procedure I've ever had, and I'm still paying for it...

Dec 1 - had a bilateral mastectomy by Dr. Mcrea. Dr. and I discussed lymph node testing before surgery. Day of surgery at 6:30 AM Dr acted as if it was the first time he met me. Lymph nodes were not part of surgery and he was pissed that he needed to fill out the correct paperwork after I questioned him. Coming out of surgery I knew something was wrong. My one drain was thick blood and filling up quickly. Other drain had no discharge but my whole left side sounded like a water balloon.

I spent 5 days in hospital with complications begging the nurses to call Dr. He came one night at 10 PM and claimed he would call at 1 PM the next day to see if I needed more surgery. Called at 9:30 PM never stopping by. Again another day I waited in hospital without any visit, just an update from a nurse. Plastic Surgeon Dr. Gayoso was a lifesaver and came in to discuss my reconstruction and discovered a large infection. He operated a second time and treated the wounds and infection. Another 5 days in hospital with Gayoso and infectious disease dr visiting or calling each day. Dec 15th I was released from hospital and have never received a phone call, a followup call, a letter in mail or phone call from Dr. Mcrae. Major surgery of 2 breasts removed and this surgeon could care less if I had any treatment or comfort.

I am sure he is a good surgeon when not busy or challenged but I would never recommend this physician for any further procedures. I was told by my oncologist that I might have a port surgery to make chemo easier and referred me to Dr. Mcrae. I told him he would never operate on me again and would get a different surgeon lined up. Good news I did not need chemo and therefore no Port!

Dr. McRae is an amazing surgeon. Having had the privilege to have worked with him in the OR and having been under his care, I have not known a finer person. He is patient, kind, gentle and generally cares a great deal about his patients, their family and his staff.

Dr Mcrae put my chemo port in and just removed it last week... The man has no personality what so ever. I never saw him prior to my surgeries nor did he even come in after both surgeries.. I would not recommend him to anyone either.

I chose Dr Mcrae for Inguinal Hernia surgery. From the first appointment i should have known something was wrong because he was always short with me and made me feel foolish and uncomfortable for asking questions regarding my procedure. After the surgery he continued to say the same thing that he told me from the beginning "Ive done a thousand of these, everything is good." Well everything wasnt good! I had persistant pain around the area of the surgery and when I went back to visit the Dr a year after the surgery he was disrespecful and told me that he doesnt think anything was wrong and I should get a CT scan. After getting the CT scan he would not even speak with me on the phone to tell me the findings. He had his secretary call me and tell me that everything looked fine and there was nothing more that he could do for me. She told me that all they could do was refer me to a pain management clinic. I am still struggling with the pain every day and I am now seeking help elsewhere.

Dr McRae was my surgeon for my emergency appendectomy. He was quiet, but knew his stuff. Since I am a college student and my parents were nowhere near when this happened, he explained to me everything that they were going to do and called my parents and explained it to them. Before my surgery I had multiple nurses tell me that he was one of the best and one tell me that he would let Dr McRae cut him open anytime (if he needed it). He was helpful after surgery as well, and allowed me to leave the hospital (only under the care of my father, he insisted) less than 24 hours later. He and I joked around and as long as he doesn't get called in for surgery at midnight, he's a funny guy.

Dr McRae was my surgeon for gall bladder removal - on the day of surgery, I never saw him. He never spoke to me beforehand, and never spoke to my partner following the surgery. I felt disrespected and ignored. I would not recommend him to anyone else ever.
