I've been seeing Dr Sotrop for year, and I've never had a single negative experience in any way, shape, or form. He's taken care of all sorts of issues with me, and when needed, he's never hesitated to provide a referral to a top shelf provider, no matter the specialty, so I would not depend too much on any negative reviews here. And in regard to the supposed malpractice suit, Dr Sotrop's record is absolutely clean, as the attached verifies. It's a shame folks post unfounded garbage. I don't see Dr Sotrop at present as I no longer live in the area, but should I return, my trust is certainly back with him, and so should be yours. https://mqa-internet.doh.state.fl.us/MQASearchServices/HealthCareProviders/Details?LicInd=33038&ProCde=1501

the office staff DOES NOT handle insurance claims in a timely manner ,plus they are annoyed being asked to do this simple task.

Have been seeing the Dr for many.years. when my son became ill and no one knew why, Dr Sotrop continued to care for my son until he gathered the right specialist for him. He is straight forward and to the point, which I love. Recommend to anyone

Went for a physical and was charged lots of money. Never saw Sotrop, as he's never around and if he is, he's talking with his staff or fiddling in his office. Don't know how this guy even has a practice in our little town, as he's not someone I would let touch me, let alone hand out a diagnosis. His staff is as helpful as he is and they seem to be there for a weekly paycheck. Here's a good point. He's supposed to be my primary care but, if he ever had to find me in a emergency room to help me (and there were two people he could choose from in deciding whom to treat), he'd have a 50/50 chance of identifying me as his patient as he's never seen me, only the checks from my insurance carrier:-). Yes, he'll send his huge bills to Blue Cross/Blue Shield but, they don't call you with results or even a follow up visit. If he knows you, you seem to be "golden" according to the reviews on this board, if you're new to him, you're nothing but a paycheck. Too bad.

Having a family doc among my relatives, one that I trust and know to be knowledgable and conscientious was a great thing for many year...but then he moved far away. Wanting to find one similar to him, I took to the internet, my research led to to Dr Sotrop. I was please to see that he was everything that my previous doctor was, so I felt very comfortable on my first visit. After having been a patient for a few years no, I am as pleased as I can be. As wiht any dotcor's office, something might happen during the day, a visit with a patient run long and then they might be behind for a bit, but I have never waited long at all. In fact, I would say the wait has been shorter than the average office. As for the care I have received, I could not be more satisfied. Dr Sotrop listens! And I have to say he is caring, very thorough, and I have never been rushed out. As long as both he and I have a pulse, this is my guy!

Today I went into Dr. Sotrop's office after having a decent first experience with him. I had a 9:15 appointment, got there at 9:16. Waited 15 minutes to get into a patient treatment room, then another 50 minutes inside the patient room. For twenty minutes I listened to him chat it up through the very thin walls in his office. Then I listened to him treat a lady that came in 10 minutes after me. After waiting 50 minutes I left. This all after wondering about whether or not to ask him about a malpractice suit he settled. Needless to say I will never go back to that office. I ended up being late to work without the benefit of seeing a doctor. Terrible business. Even a member of his staff told me that what happened to me was unacceptable. I agree and will never go back to that office. :-(
