Words cannot describe how much I appreciate Dr. Gelety. I was diagnosed before I came to him with 2 fibroids and infertility. After undergoing multiple iui's and 2 IVF's at the University of Illinois at chicago, I did not get pregnant. I recently moved to Tucson 2 months ago and found Dr. Gelety.

He immediately suggested removal for my fibroids before moving on to IVF. He performed laparoscopic surgery 5 days ago and to my surprise he found 6 fibroids and alot of scar tissue. The surgery went great and because he is so skilled, my scars are so minimum, although I have a propensity to keloid. I will move on to IVF after I heal from the surgery, but for now I am forever grateful for removing these fibroids, which have disrupted my life and probably caused my previous miscarriage. I'll keep you posted with my IVF treatment, but I'm sure now that he has freed my uterus, everything will go well.

After dealing with infertility for years and seeing doctor after doctor, we were referred to Dr. Gelety. He was wonderful and very personable with me, unfortunately he never listened. I had a very limited timeline to either conceive, or have the surgery to fix my endometriosis. His PA was rude to my husband and myself, I was never told he even had a PA and I had been seeing him for six months. Both of them kept telling me to just continue with the Clomid yet with my partner leaving the country for an extensive time, there was zero point, so we pushed for the surgery. I was strung along until the last second and unable to have the surgery performed or conceive. Definitely won't be going back.

I saw Gelety, he was the first doctor that took me seriously with my infertility issues. Previous providers kept pushing pills, while Gelety found out I was not ovulating with those pills, thus I was not getting pregnant. The staff and doctor have been great. My only complaint is that sometimes they can be slow in seeing you, but, at the same time, on more than one occasion I was seen over half an hour before my scheduled appointment. Some people have said that he pushes you through the fertility treatments, but isn't that what you are there for? I was ecstatic about his promptness to get this process started, as was my husband. After my first cycle of IVF with him I am currently pregnant with twins. I do hope this pregnancy stays full term, either way I have never even been able to get pregnant before meeting this doctor. I have had many panicky days and the staff and the doctor have worked with me to ensure I am seen and/or my questions are answered.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Gelety for almost two years. We have had a complex (for us anyway) journey but along the way he and his staff have been a constant, caring, and patient source of care for us. Not only Dr. Gelety but the Nurse Practioner, Ms. Marta, have a vested interest and take their time to explain the treatment plan and the road ahead. They have both been open to anything we have brought to the table. They have been willing to answer any and all questions and run any test I inquire about, even if it is just for my peace of mind. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone battling infertility issues. You may not get the immediate results you're looking for, but it won't be to any fault of his lack of knowledge or experience. Have faith in him and he will certainly give you the best he has to offer! Best of luck! Rebecca

My husband and I had been seeing Gelety for a year and a half. We were new to infertility and were expecting to learn along the way from our doctor. Two surgeries for endo, a full 12 months on Clomid w/Ovidrel trigger, and three failed IUI's later I scheduled a 'action planning' appointment with Gelety where I was told "don't give me that bologna..." when I asked a question about information I found on the internet. We decided to have a consult with a different RE. After the new RE reviewed our records, he was surprised that I was on Clomid for 12 cycles considering it is only supposed to be used for 6 cycles in a LIFETIME and he mentioned that my husbands morphology was well below average. Gelety had told me repeatedly that the only problem with us conceiving was my endo, that the SA was above average in ALL categories. He is always in a hurry and "I just don't know" with a shoulder shrug were how many of our questions were answered.

My husband and I had a consultation which Dr. Celery told me my left ovary was stuck to my uterus and right fallopian tube was full with fluid. He told us to come back on my first day of my period to see if eggs can go threw any of my tubes. I call an Andrea and say I only wanna see Dr. Celery not his assistant. I get there and its her. She does a monogram again an tells me everything looks good! She says I need to start Ivf right away. The rest is a waste of time cuz she's the Ivf queen! I went to the one person I trust who knew my I awe since she wouldnt listen what he explained. She said five minutes u can see the Dr. Then his assistant comes in an tells me I have to wait in waiting room. I wait four hours and finally talk with digits. He tells me by pictures everything is good. I said last time u said it wasn't! He told me well I am guessing I am not sure unless we do surgery. I can't tell by a sonogram. I was treated like dirt and u get a different story everytime.THEY JUST WANT $

Do NOT use this doctor. He's slightly cheaper- you'll pay more in the end. He will hyperstimulate his patients to obtain more eggs and implants more to boost his numbers. I was hyperstimulated by him - to the point of unbearable pain/illness. I was sent home w/ no instructions and NOBODY checked in on me during my illness. I was YouTubing what to do. (His cell is being given because of a previous Medical Board complaint filed years ago because he left a patient w/o any means of communicating w/ him after surgery) Since I was hyperstimulated (HS), I wasn't able to use my fresh embryos. Because once you are HS, the condition (w/ pain) continues for months if you get pregnant. My embryos had to be frozen and the use of them failed. (I obtained success w/ a different doctor.)He will spend plenty of time with you during the consolation in order to gain your business. But, you will only work w/ his assistant, Martha, who is only a nurse practitioner. I believe this office operates under questionable ethical standards.

After 6 months with the other doctor in town, I switched to Gelety. Yes, the office is not as snazzy as the other REs, but he and Marta give you very personal attention. He tailors the treatment to the individual, unlike the other RE, who uses a one protocol fits all approach. Dr. Gelety, Marta, and Dr. Wu work non-stop. Gelety & Marta even give you their cell phone numbers. I honestly don't know how they do it, but their hard work is what leads to their success rates. I thought the prices were extremely reasonable compared to other clinics in the US, and the recommendation to buy our meds from Europe literally saved us thousands of dollars. I highly recommend this RE.
