My GP sent me to see Dr. Sampath about 7-8 years ago. After a couple of appointments and a medical procedure at the hospital, at the end I felt as if I was just being brushed-off! I know he's extremely knowledgeable and is great at what he does, but he came across very dismissive, arrogant and unsympathetic. To me, he more less said, it's all in my head and to just loose some weight!! With all due respect doctor, it's not in my head, it's in my intestines!! Now, I am being sent back to him years later, with horrible discomfort and pain at times! These problems have been going on for years and years! I am terrified he's not going to take things seriously again and he'll once again give me negative opinions, be arrogant and dismissive! I pray I am wrong, because I do want to feel more comfortable and at ease seeing him again.

I had my gallbladder removed in the beginning of this year. Dr. Sampath did an excellent job. He’s great at what he does! Highly recommend.

Dr. Sampath is my husband's surgeon at Richmond General Hospital. He performed emergency stomach surgery on my husband to remove a clot in the large vein in his stomach. He has been wonderful with phoning and keeping me informed. I feel when my husband is being monitored by him that he is in good hands. Since my husband is in ICU and there are no visitors allowed at this time communication is so important. I find Dr. Sampath easy to communicate with, empathetic and very informative. We are so fortunate to have him at Richmond Hospital.

Dr. Sampath performed my Gastric Bypass surgery. Unfortunately I had complications and he and his team met at Richmond Hospital in a snow storm at night for my rush intake. He is a good communicator & down to earth.

Dr. Sampath operated on myself on September 18, 2020 where he removed a section of my colon which was infected with Diverticulitis....I am so grateful to him and the team who were in the operating room for helping me get back to some sort of normal life after Diverticulitis. I am so happy I took the plunge and decided to get this surgery.....it's going to make a huge difference....also thank you's to Kathleen and May for all of my questions and worries they were able to answer for me....

4 years ago today Dr Sampath operated on my son for a burst appendix.
