I had my 3rd followup visit with Dr Dixon today after abdominal surgery in August of this year. I suffered for 4+ years until I was referred to Dr. Dixon. I’m still recovering and I have to keep reminding myself of that. He asked me today if I feel better now after the surgery compared to a year ago. I said absolutely!! It wasn’t until later in the day when I really noticed and pondered that thought about how I really feel. The answer is I’m starting to get my life back in more ways than I couldn’t even imagine before. Joy, happiness, energy not just for exercise or daily living but for relationships. I got lost being so sick for so long that I forgot who I was. Dr Dixon gave me my hopes, dreams and my life back. I wish I could have told him all that face to face today. Hopefully he’ll read this some day. He is the greatest and I would 100% recommend him.

I would not be here today if it were not for Dr. Dixion. I was a patient of his for many years as they were monitoring a large hepatic hemangioma that was causing severe pain in my upper right quadrant. After many years of suffering he performed a liver resection and removed two tumors and my gall bladder. I am living pain free today because of this man. He is truly an angel that is walking this earth!

Dr.. Dixon is a brilliant, caring and courteous professional admired by we, his patients, and his surgical and nursing colleagues alike. He really takes his time to explain procedures and anticipated outcomes. He's highly effective, and is absolutely thorough in his follow-ups. The OR staff love him too.

Just over 3 years ago, our mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at age 81. She was fortunate enough to qualify for the Whipple procedure which Dr. Dixon perfomed. At age 84, she continues to be one of the good statistics for a very deadly disease. We can't thank Dr. Dixon enough for giving us extra years with our wonderful mother.

I was referred to Dr. Dixon by a surgeon. When I was asked where I was experiencing the pain I would point to my upper right side just under my ribs. I was told that it was my ribs. I was perplexed at that answer. Instead of being sent for tests regarding my liver, gallbladder or pancreas I had an endoscopy to see if I had an ulcer which came back as negative. In the recovering room as Dr. Dixon was going through my discharge papers I asked him what's next. He told me that he would remove my gallbladder and drain the liver cysts and to call his assistant the next day. I called the next day to schedule the appointment but his assistant had no knowledge of the request and said that she needed to speak to Dr. Dixon. Two days later she called me back and said that Dr. Dixon didn't need to see me any further. It took two months to get in to see him, two months to get the endoscopy done and I'm still in excruciating pain in my upper right abdomen and no where to go. I found Dr. Dixon to be arrogant, incompetent, impersonal and not forthcoming with his answers. At the initial consult appointment it was clear to me that he had an agenda that did not include responses or questions from me. I was only allowed to choose one area that hurt the most and I have two areas, which could be two separate issues but according to him it was my ribs.

I would not recommend Dr. Dixon for any liver, gallbladder or pancreas concerns.

Dr. Dixon is not just an outstanding surgeon, but an empathetic and caring human being who explains his diagnosis thoroughly and with great patience. My late mother had received news from another surgeon that her pancreatic cancer was inoperable. That other surgeon was very testy and failed to explain anything to us, which added distress to an already difficult situation.

We sought a referral to Dr. Dixon, who took the time to draw us a diagram of mum's tumour and explain why he didn't think he could resect her tumour. He even went so far as to offer us a DVD copy of her scan and mention two other surgeons, one in Hamburg, Germany and one in Seattle, who were world leaders in their field. Dr. Dixon suggested that we ask them if they would consider performing the surgery. When we sent them the scan and they both declined, we knew we had done our best for her.

We will always be grateful for Dr Dixon's patience and compassion in helping us understand a terrible diagnosis.

In May of 2010 my life was in limbo . I had a growth on my Liver which had ruptured and was spilling cancerous contaminates into my body cavity as I found out later. I was given great care and guidance by Dr Elijah Dixon. Care which he still gives to this day. Never once in 4 years have I seen him look at his watch , when he is with you he gives you his complete and undivided attention answering any and all my questions.
A true and dedicated professional. He is definitely a person with a true gift , personality and integrity. I consider myself very fortunate to have the best through my dilemma and to this day.

Dr Dixon performed my liver resection and removed my gallbladder in September. I think he is an excellent surgeon. He is very friendly and was very informative in all my appointments with him. I only spent seven nights in the hospital. The team of doctors he works with saw me daily in the hospital. They were excellent also. I'm very happy that Dr Dixon performed my surgery and his team took care of me in the hospital. I am also very happy that Dr Dixon is treating me post-surgery. I have had four previous surgeries for Crohn's disease with some very good surgeons, but Dr Dixon is the best surgeon I have had.
