Saw dr Findlay for many months and completed many courses of prolotherapy.
All of which was a complete waste of time and money.
Not once was I asked if I had ever noticed a bullseye rash…
Not being diagnosed properly destroyed any hope of LTD coverage.

Saw this rude man at Calg Chronic Pain Clnc. He doesn't like or respect women much. I felt insulted and dismissed. Met him once. That was enough. I do not like or trust the man, based on how he interacted with me. I did not return for treatment by him.

Everyone of us that has been dismissed and treated horribly by this so called Dr, should band together and file a class action lawsuit. The damage he has caused so many is immeasurable and inexcusable. He should not be allowed to practice in any way, shape or form for another day. It is absolutely disgusting that he has been allowed to practice anything this long.

This is re: a phone consultation Ted Findlay did with my Family Physician (at the time - I'm no longer seeing this family physician, I'm actually not sure where she practicing, and I think she just practices HOSPITAL MEDICINE).

Anyway, there was a big [or is a big] mistake in my chart and I'm not sure how to fix it. Ted Findlay referenced an ER (technically it was Urgent Care - not sure if that matters, but it was S. Urgent Care center) - an encounter for which the physician (I believe) was FIRED.

In this appt, appeared in the E.R. in June 2019. I was in so much pain I was crying. In this appt, the physician -who is from Uganda (I'm not going to name names on a public forum, however you could probably look this up)

1) walked into the room

2) did no physical exam

3) told me I had anxiety.

3 months (5 different doctors later?) I finally figured out what I had: acute shoulder bursitis. I ruptured my shoulder bursas. HURTS LIKE AN M.F.!

So, I actually didn't need any treatment for this injury though!! It just took 3 months to go away. And I don't residual issues with it - but, MAN, WAS IT PAINFUL. I should've been at least given a physical exam in the Urgent Care - at the least, I should've been referred to ultrasound (I'm not sure).

After I complained at this incident, I believe the physician lost his job at South Urgent Care Centre - b/c you can't just give no exam and say "Anxiety" while the patient is crying. I should perhaps complain to the CPSA (medical board, correct) If it's something a part of my file.

So, I'm just referencing this b/c - I saw that you mentioned I was seen in June 2019 for "depression" - um, it wasn't depression I was crying because of how painful my shoulder bursitis was. Anyone reading who is unaware bursitis - it HURTS like the dickens if you rupture your bursa. HURTS LIKE THE DICKENS. However, even though it is so painful, it's actually not the worse injury to have, as I didn't need any treatment and it eventually goes away, without residual effects.

Anyway, I'm not sure how to clear this. The doctor who saw me in Urgent Care - I believe he lost his job over this incident - which I believe was not the only incident - he must've been in trouble for other stuff, right?

Please let me know what I should do b/c I don't want him referencing "depression" on the report he did, when actually I was seen because of injury. Crying because of how painful the shoulder bursitis was. IT HURTS SO BAD TO RUPTURE the bursa. fyi patients - if it ever happens to you - soooo painful guys. Thankfully I had a decent physician who finally caught what my condition was, but that was in Sept, the incident happened in June. It took many months for it to dissipate.

I'm not sure how I should rate this. I think he should've written some other things in my NetCare, which would've showed I was seen later (and diagnosed) with shoulder bursitis. Thanks@!@@@@@

I have recently had the same experience with old Ted Findley as other reviewers have documented.
I found him to be very condescending, rude, and cold. He had made up his mind about me before even seeing me. He wouldn't let me get an word in edgewise and only wanted to hear HIMSELF speak.  That assistant of his, Michelle, is no better. She didn't want to hear me speak, kept interrupting. Very cold old woman. Very uncomfortable experience.  These two should consider retiring together soon if they are so unhappy and unfulfilled seeing patients in need.
When I attempted to report my experience to management of the pain program, I was promptly kicked out of said program, without even a phone call to let me know they were kicking me out. They just sent me discharge papers by email. Nasty, cruel people.
Don't let them defeat you! Avoid this mismanaged program, and certainly avoid Ted Findley. You can find equivalent help on youtube (ex. relaxation methods like yoga, qi gong) and through your family doc (ex. Physio referral).

Saw him in 2020 after a significant wait. He said there is no treatment for chronic pain; you just have to live with it. My dogs get better treatment for their pain than this man provides.

Absolutely SHOULD NOT be practicing in any way, shape or form. He is stunned, doesn't know the patients at all that he writes stuff on, and doesn't believe anyone should have pain management because they they are faking and he thinks everyone is an addict. I think he is, and this is his way of pulling the proverbial wool over everyone's eyes and getting away with it.
Disgusting being.

Through the Chronic Pain Centre. I spent two years completing all the preliminary requirements and finally was given an appointment with Dr Findlay. Supposed to be a 2 hour assessment. I was given a chair in the middle of a large room while dr Findlay and some other man I was never introduced to sat behind a small desk. This was before covid. Dr Findlay asked a few perfunctory questions. I inquired as to this other person and was rudely told “you don’t know him? He’s famous.” The other person laughed uncomfortably and I never learned who he was or why he was there. Unprofessional
I was asked to put on a gown. They left the room. I put the gown in and left my clothing on waist down as requested.
They returned laughing and chit chatting.
I was then asked to describe the history and current symptoms of my (terrible) chronic pain
As I expressed my fear of never finding a solution I began to cry. It’s scRy and emotional.
No response from dr.
He did one short test on my wrist. Decided I didn’t know what I was talking about. Dismissed me. no suggestions or anything.
What I’d paid parking for 2 hrs took about 35 minutes.
I left. I didn’t ask for a future appointment.
Dr findlay should not be working with chronic paint patients.

So apparently the treatment I was receiving a few years ago was appropriate but now it's not! He doesn't care about quality of life or daily activities but rather what dose of medication and constantly lowering it until your symptoms are unbearable. Then he says coldly "Oh well, it's a chronic condition."! He's not friendly at all and makes no effort to chit chat or be nice. He implied that my doctor who referred me to pain centre was either incompetent or lying. Now his opinions are in my chart and I can't get them removed. I really wish I'd seen another doctor their.
