Biography

Dr. Libbey Spiess is a true Cincinnatian! She attended Mother of Mercy High School and Mt Saint Joseph University where she played volleyball and was an Academic All-American. She attended medical school at University of Cincinnati.During high school, Dr. Spiess was a volunteer at Cincinnati Children's Hopital. She describes feeling inspiration in a place where everyone was working to help children. She later returned to Cincinnati Children's as a pediatric intern. Dr. Spiess completed her residency at Cincinnati Children's and was a recipient of the Outstanding Pediatric Resident Award.Dr. Spiess describes a calling to help and encourage childern. She has experienced a lifelong affinity for working with children and enjoys patients of all ages. Dr. Spiess treasures caring for her patients, watching them grow, and forging relationships with the families. She incorporates humor into her practice, frequently telling patients jokes in order to build rapport and help patients feel at ease. Dr Spiess talks to patients about their lives, their hobbies and interests. She believes her interest in her patients lives helps strengthen her relationship with children under her care.In 2017 Dr. Spiess was the recipient of Aubrey Rose Foundation Above and Beyond Doctor of the Year Award.Dr. Spiess is an avid sports fan. In addition to attending sporting events, she enjoys walking, nature and travel.
