D. Robins and the staff at Center for Reproductive Health care deeply about their patients and their health outcomes. It's amazing that such professional, kind people and innovative fertility services are available in Spokane.

I agree with a lot of comments people have said but don't necessarily see them as bad things. We went to see Dr. Robbins after finding out about a uterine malformation and 2 1/2 years of ttc. I found Dr. Robbins very knowledgable on my disorder and felt he spent adequate time with us. He did not push IVF as he said our issue would not really be becoming pregnant but staying pregnant. Yes, he is somewhat abrupt but I can se how he may have to distance himself somewhat as this is a very emotional process. We ended up becoming pregnant naturally shortly after and Dr. Robbins lets us do the ultrasounds and morning clinic even though we didn't actually use his services. I am glad he was truthful and blunt about not all babies making it as we miscarried at 13 weeks. When I went in for follow up testing Dr. Robbins was extremely compassionate about our loss. He also recommended a blood test panel most doctors would not recommend until three or more miscarriages due to it being rare. As luck would have it, this blood clotting disorder was a contributor to our miscarriage. Without this knowledge we could have had multiple miscarriages and heartache as opposed to a healthy 4 month old (another natural pregnancy monitored by Dr. Robbins.). I would rather be told what to possibly expect even if it is scary than be blindsided, particularly regarding the most important thing in my life.

We had never done IVF before and, after getting some of the preconceptions by the staff that we had been investigating and undergoing IVF for years, the communications improved and was much clearer. There staff was great at coordinating with an outside egg donor agency and getting all their usual tests that Dr. Robin's requires for baseline testing. We had success the first time with two embryos implanted and a singleton birth. Our longest talk with Dr. Robins was the initial consultation. While I agree with the assessment that you are waiting with a lot of other patients, many times that was for blood draws that was done first thing in the morning (partially due to staffing); I did not mind as I could get back to work right away. I do agree his nurse was difficult to get a hold of; she was not very responsive to email or phone calls and we had to be persistent in calling to get the information we needed.

I recently completed an IVF cycle with Dr Robins, I am in position to compare my experience to clinics in the UK and in various parts of the country. Dr Robins is very skilled and even upon discussions I can tell how passionate he is about reprodcutive medicine and techology. Dr R is focused on the science and does whatever he can to optimise our chances for success. He has staff to provide us with the support we need and personally my Nurse has been an AMAZING and it is a true testament to him that he has a lot of patients. He does recognise the hardships of this process but at the same point he has to devote his time to the medical side vs emotional nurturing in order for us to get the results we want. My nurse was filled with medical knowledge and guidance the appointments are not going to be joyful as we are uncomfortable from the meds. Having the appts early allows the patients to get on with their day, return to work etc. Dr R is a kind and humble man. His team are fantastic!

I've been a patient of Dr Robins' for 2 years / 5 cycles. This is my experience. 1- I feel like a case number. Nothing is designed with individual attention or privacy in mind. All the patients arrive at same time and wait in line in a crowded waiting room. We frequently run into other couples we knew - making our private matters very public. 2- I have not have more than 3 minutes of conversation with Dr Robins in two years of regular treatments. In fact, patients are given instructions not to ask the Dr any questions during ultrasounds - the only time we really see him. If there were other occasions to get questions answered it would be ok - but there are not. Third, my "nurse" is actually an LPN who was frequently unable to answer my questions. 4 - No communication at all unless I initiate it. Summary: I have no doubt that Dr. Robins is a very skilled Dr and has good stats, but it was a bad experience for me and I wish I had the $$ to finish my treatment elsewhere.

Dr. Robins is a phenomenal doctor. I was disappointed to read some of these reviews, I know how painful this process can be and that sometimes patient expectations are not realistic going into it, which makes it difficult to learn some of the realities of fertility challenges. But he is nothing short of brilliant. He was supportive and encouraging, and the quality control in place was reassuring. His staff was encouraging and helpful, and he took the time to evaluate my individual situation and customize my treatment accordingly. There are some harsh realities to fertility challenges, and he is able to communicate them kindly as they relate to your situation, while offering the best possible solutions. I absolutely trusted him with my care, and would recommend him to anyone. He is responsible, kind and brilliant.

The Doctor and clinic are very helpful, friendly, polite and have gone far out of their way for us. They care about us and answer our questions thoroughly and quickly. We are convinced he is the best in the US and the statistics support that. Anyone can write me at scripturewallart@gmail.com to know us better and our story. I have recommended this clinic on my facebook. We are so grateful for them and the hope we now have.

Dr. Robins is a very unpleasant doctor in a time when a little support is much needed. He blurted out inappropriate statements at least twice, asked me if I had ever done IVF before in my second cycle after seeing him every other day for the past week. I too had my transfer cancelled at the last minute which other IVF clinics have questioned. I too was told I would need to see Dr. Robins regarding care, but couldn't get an appointment in that cycle time frame. Every time I reached out to the clinic, the response was negative. I heard this from other people before I started, but chose to "get in and get out" but if I could turn back time, I would NOT go to this clinic. The reports on days 1, 3 and 5 for my embryos was laughable. I educated myself as time went along and when I questioned the RN about my embryos she couldn't even remotely answer my questions. Stay clear of this clinic, go to Boise, Montana or the west side. $35k later and no baby...bigger issue...they wasted time.

He seems pretty straight forward and tolerated my nervous humor. I told him i was 34 and the clock is ticking. He seemed compassionate and able to put me at ease about it. He had a good eye for looking at test results and direct about next steps. Explains things at a good pace and remarkably well. He did not talk to fast. Staff seems motivated and very polite and professional. Everyone loves to help even though I am coming from out of town.

The bad reviews are true. He doesn’t just have bad bedside manner. He is rude & inconsiderate. This clinic is unprofessional & unethical. We were assured by the clinic that we had an 89% chance of getting pregnant. One egg retrieval, two transfers & $40,000 later we were still not pregnant. We switched to a clinic in Bellevue & learned that our embryos should have NEVER been frozen. They were fertilized & expanding & they should have been transferred right after the retrieval. Not transferring the fresh embryos reduced our chance of getting pregnant to 30%. Dr Robins told us that our embryos were “delayed” & that’s why they were not transferred. After consulting w/ an embryologist (who reviewed our file & looked at our embryos) we learned that is not true. We didn't have a fresh transfer because they take on too many patients & that's the ONLY reason. We also learned that they do not catalog the embryos to distinguish them, which means they don’t transfer the healthiest embryos.
