Back surgery 30 years ago, recovery was no pain for me, a couple years ago I picked up something too heavy and that was the first problem with my back, and it cured itself, too! 1 1/2 years to cure itself and fine now.

Dr Spencer demonstrates no concern or care towards the patient. He is abrupt bordering on rude. I kept hearing how great he is only to realize he passed me off to someone else for closure after I contracted a severe infection in rehab. He should have informed me of this procedure and I would have found another surgeon. He offers no information other than you need surgery. 3rd surgery went well after I told him I wanted him to do the entire procedure. He is always in a hurry. I got 5 minutes of his time after waiting over an hour. He may be a good surgeon but I will not be returning and because of my experience cannot recommend him.

Dr. Spencer is a great surgeon. I had been suffering with back pain for over 20 years when I went to see him. We agreed to be conservative and spent over a year trying the conservative methods to solve my issue. We finally agreed it was time to do surgery and it was a huge success. I highly recommend Dr. Spencer. His nurse is a little spitfire who commands respect. The office staff totally sucks though.

Dr. Spencer is an excellent surgeon. I had neck surgery and hip replacement with him. Both went extremely well. I now live without pain. Although you have to wait to be seen, I have had the best care possible being associated with Dr. Spencer and his staff and physical therapists.

Doc Spencer is incredible. He is the most knowledgeable ortho surgeon that I've met. He has done two surgeries on me to fix what another surgeon messed up. I can't speak more highly of him. He's conservative and truly cares. P.S. His office staff (other than his top nurse) drive me nuts. Bring a book - most times you'll wait.

I found Dr. Spencer to be completly disappointing. Each time I visited the office I had to wait at least 40 minutes to be seen. Only then to have the Dr. rush in and out. Seeming not to care about my needs. I had to ask about medication as well as many other issues. I felt that he didn't care. And I am currently looking for another Dr.

I had been suffering from terrible back pain for two years and the orthopaedic surgeon I had been seeing couldn't give me a definite/specific reason for it. When my insurance discontinued their contract with that doctor I went searching for a spinal specialist and found Dr. Spencer. He ordered x-rays, took one look and suddenly it all made sense. I had a history of scoliosis and was aware that my curve was increasing but for whatever reason it took Dr. Spencer to put two and two together. He realized right away surgery would eventually be needed but wasn't about to rush into anything. I ended up having the surgery just this past December and already it's made a difference in my life. Surgeons generally aren't known for their bedside manner but Dr. Spencer is an exception to that rule. Busy as he is he always has time for my questions and concerns and was kinder, more patient and more understanding then some of the nurses on the floor when I had my surgery

definately one of the best orthos around--office is overwhelmed with too many patients--long wait to get appt.s and to see doctor--his nurse is very good but the office staff is terrible--they don't follow up on authorizations and don't believe in returning phone calls--if you can put up with the staff and wait times, he's the ortho to see.
