Dr. Copeland was fine when it came to medical questions. When he started making negative comments on my birthplace (I'm a native Chicagoan), questioning why I homeschool my two young children (They're 11 and 7) and saying negative things about where I'm moving to (My kids and I are moving to Laughlin so their dad/my husband can be closer to his new job) things went downhill. I sat through one of the most uncomfortable first doctor visits ever! I DIDN'T appreciate his negative comments and found him to be VERY unprofessional! He had me go through labs (blood work/blood draw). I have already asked for a different doctor or medical assistant to give me my lab results besides him. Also, I filed a complaint with HCP who will let their Board of Directors and the office manager know what I went through. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND EITHER ANOTHER DOCTOR AT THIS PRACTICE OR GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH!

As a first time patient, I was made to wait over 2 hours past my appointment time, and was then told by reception the Dr. could not see me because I had my service dog and he was allergic nobody said anything previously and why could they not tell me when I first came in? It goes downhill from there. Sher, his nurse was nasty, and patronizing. STAY AWAY.... MY HEALTHCARE COMPANY HAS AN INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY.

Always to send patients to collection even though it is the fault of the Doctor's codes. Messed up Medicare with wrong diagnosis in order to get as much money as possible. WRONG. My husband is a stroke patient and Dr. Copeland said to him "you look like you just came off the street." Nice doctor. He lost two patients with that comment that I know of. I hope Sherry is a nurse and just not an office girl. She draws labs, etc. That was something new. Not very efficient. When called, she doesn't give any answers but says she knows nothing about the billing. Terrible office procedures.

Dr. Ira Hunter Copeland is an Outstanding Doctor! No he is not always punctual but, that is because he is taking his time with each patient. Therefore, you need to have patience. Dr. Copeland will tell you the truth and does not sugar coat it so if your fat or obese like me get on a diet. Because Dr. Copeland cares about your well-being. Now he is quirky - But which Doctor is not quirky? Las Vegas Valley is lucky to have a Dr. Copeland practicing in Las Vegas!

I agree that Dr. Copeland is quirky. He seemed to be overly interested in my background which really didnt have any baring on my physical condition. He also made comments that could be construed as discriminatory. He was abrupt and seemed a little arrogant. His sence of humor helps to deflect alot of these characteristics. His medical knowledge appears sound and he is thorough. It does seem hard to find competent professionals in healthcare these days.

Dr Copeland is quirky and competent as others mention. A competent GP is hard to find.

However his office staff simply does not do anything without several phone calls and office visits. Every prescription requires several phone calls and a drive out there. You can call every day, and ask them to fax a referral, but until you drive and watch them it wont happen.

Often they don't answer the phone.

These problems have persisted over several months. Its not a question of something falling through the cracks, they just don't care.

Last week Wednesday I saw Dr. Copeland and his Nurse Sherry and showed them two red bumps I had on my waist and said I believe, they were Shingles and was told by Both of them. That is definitely "Not Shingles". The Dr. Said it was a "Bug Bite" even though I insisted it was Shingles. On Tuesday, I again called them because I was in pain and two new ones came out. Sherry told me to come in to the office and she would look at them to make sure it was Shingles which she did and informed me a prescription, would be called in to my Pharmacy. I waited all day and called my Pharmacy several times and also left messages for Sherry inquiring what time will I be able to pick up my medicine. She never even returned my call. I had to speak to another Nurse, who said she would get Sherry on the Phone for me. But, then returned and informed me, Sherry said the Shingles will have to take it's course. It is now too late for any Prescription medication. Sherry is very INCOMPETENT & RUDE.

Dr. Copeland is a fantastic doctor. He is abrupt and tells jokes that almost no one will get, he walks out of the exam room and then suddenly back in, he goes out and talks to his nurse and then comes back to ask a couple more questions. It always seems to me that it is his way of thinking and deciding. I really like that he is not a pill-pusher while at the same time not being afraid of drugs when necessary. I am horrible at getting his jokes, but a good dose of humility is always in order. If you just want your drugs or if you want to be pampered and treated like a celebrity, he is not the doctor for you; but if you like it straight and you don't want anything you don't need and you can take a little sarcasm, then he is the best doc you will ever want to meet!

Dr. Copeland is very knowledgeable & helpful. The reason the wait is so long is because he takes the time to sit down & talk one on one to you. You are not some piece of meat on a conveyor belt be processed thru. He genuinely cares for his patients & is honest & straightforward with you. For some hypocondriacs this may seem rude. I have recommended him to friends who also like him.

Arrogant, openly rude and not helpful at all. Exam lasted 5 seconds, he wrote scribbles for 1 minute, then left. I would never see him again.
