Dr Trouton is amazing. My midwife referred me to her for a missed miscarriage at 18 weeks. I admit that I really didn’t want to go as I was heartbroken and did not want to see a doctor that terminates pregnancies for a living when I had lost a baby that I so wanted. I was wrong to have judged her, as, in addition to being a competent, gentle, professional, she turned out to be the most compassionate doctor I have ever met. She indulged in just one more ultrasound just in case, and consoled me when I cried. She arranged for the cremation of my baby, a chaplain for prayer in the hospital and DNA testing to find out what went wrong, calling me at 9:00 at night with the test results.

I have to say, should you or a loved one need the service of the women’s clinic and Dr Trouton please be sure to bring and have support people with you as the desk staff and staff doctor I experienced made a sad and difficult time more difficult. Even though I was planning to terminate for medical reasons they took an ultrasound and I asked if there was a heartbeat - the clinic DR said she didn’t see one but it didn’t matter if I was going to terminate anyway. Well, it did matter to me. That was just one unfortunate slice of my clinic experience, another, which had to do with (non) trauma informed care I won’t elaborate on here. In any case because of a sexual abuse history (etc) I was very clear I didn’t want an IUD. Once in the surgery room seconds before I was being sedated I was asked if I was sure I didn’t want one — which made me feel extra scared like I wasn’t heard. I met this physician just moments before the procedure and aside from the IUD comment I only exchanged names with her. The nurse at VGH told me both Dr Trouton and the nurse team would follow up with a call post procedure because of some of my health issues. I received no calls from either. Although I am grateful to have such an experienced doctor for this type of care (vital) there could have been just a little more attention to patient centred care, particularly with such delicate issues.

This was the most traumatic experience I have ever had. At this point I'm not sure if I should look into filing a formal complaint...Dr Trouton was very rough when cutting the strings on my IUD after suggesting that my husband was lying about feeling them. I left the office and immediately started crying in my car. I have been in pain since and bleeding. I have had 3 children and feel like I have a decent pain tolerance but this was pretty bad.

Dr Trouton was amazing. The staff and drs made what was an incredibly difficult situation bearable. I would *highly* recommend this clinic to anyone needing medical attention. The staff made me feel welcomed and well taken care of. I can’t thank them enough.

Absolutely appalling that this woman is allowed to have a medical license. Extremely rude and awful bedside manner. Did not listen to my words or concerns and forced me into an unwanted medication.

I went in for a test result with Dr. Trouton and was abruptly told that my condition could only be remedied by a hysterectomy. Puzzled because I knew this was inaccurate and because my sibling had a much worse case remedied by a different procedure, I questioned her. She asked where my siblings procedure had bees done and advised that I go to that city because now I'm in Victoria and Victoria Dr's do. hysterectomy'.s

Within 15 minutes of phone research I found a clinic in Victoria who was appalled by that statement and stated that their gyno did the procedure all the time.

I think Dr Trouton handled this poorly. She basically told me because I was 49 the procedure wouldn't be considered. Angering.

Dr. Trouton did an emergency procedure for me at the hospital and she was so kind and put me at ease. I am so grateful she took the time to talk with me before the procedure. She was really terrific and I felt so lucky to have had her.
