I have been treated by Dr. Chavin for pain related to conditions of my lumbar spine since March, 2017, and the care I've received by him and his entire staff is superior to the other 2 clinics where I've been seen. I was able to sched. an appt. within a reasonable length of time, after which I was given a thorough physical exam including X-rays. The staff was friendly and accessible, and it was reassuring to have my questions answered, especially by Mary ellen and the other nurses. I've read some other reviews which have desvribed Dr. Chavin as "rude, hateful, and mean", and I can see how that would be a first impression of him. However, I think that may be his confrontational way of separating those who are there just to try and get pain meds, from those who want to cooperate with the recommended course of treatment, follow the rules, and be a partner in their own health care. Expect to have a urine screen, pill count if pain medication is prescribed, and a 1-to-1 visit with the Dr. as well as a nurse during each appt. which can involve a couple of hr. or longer, depending on whether or not you have a precedure such as cortisone injections done that day. I would recommend this Dr.

Judgemental inconsiderate jerk. That pretty much sums up Dr. Chavin. At your very first appointment he will immediately accuse you of being an addict and/or selling your medication. He will yell and cuss in your face and accuse you of being a liar. Following the rules at this facility will get you nowhere. He makes his own rules and if he doesn't like you he will discharge you. He will drug test you every time (because he profits from this) then later you will be billed an extra $500 AFTER INSURANCE for an extra drug test charge. After being there for one year he requires you to have injections and states this is mandatory. I have worked with doctors over the last 10 years and I have never met anyone so unprofessional and so rude in my entire life. He is not only a disgrace as a doctor but as a human being. He will accept you as a patient to collect your money and discharge you in a heart beat when he feels like it. His office should be shut down. Which by the way, is a whole other complaint. It is diguisting and filthy. I am appalled that his facility is allowed to stay in operation. I will say there are a few staff members that were nice and to them I wish them luck and advise them to go somewhere else to work before he ruins your career. It is only a matter of time before this office is closed down.

6-7 hours is too long to wait!!! I have never in my life waited this long to be seen anywhere!!!! The staff is nice. But no doctor should talk to a patient like I just overheard him speak to someone! He literally cussed this woman out!! I won't be back. This is ridiculous.

This doctor is a joke, pay attention to your EOB's they will charge you for things that you never received, you will wait for 7 hours and if you say anything about the wait time you are being confrentational. Dr. Chavin is very rude and acts like everyone is an addict. This is not a good place

This is the worst Dr.'s office I have ever been to, and I have been to many. They are very rude, arrogant, and just plain hateful. They treat you like a common criminal or street thug. They automatically assume that all the patients there are drug seeking, addicted, and/or selling the meds for money. When you go, you feel uneasy there. It's like they are just waiting for you to mess up. It's crazy. No one would believe how it is unless they see for themselves. One thing that makes me madder than anything is how slow they are!!!!! They expect you to be prompt for your appointment, that is certain. As a matter of fact, if you are fifteen minutes late for your appointment, you have to reschedule; NO exceptions. In a "normal" doctor's office, I could understand that entirely, but not here. Every time I go I am there for six to seven hours. This is the dead truth. I don't know why this is exactly. They have been short-staffed a lot because no one will stay; imagine that??? But they have been fully staffed many, many, times and nothing changes. I think they don't know what the other employees in the office are doing, and the poor communication is a part of it. They also like to stand around and talk a lot because you can hear the nurses talking in the waiting room and you can also hear them when you are back in an exam room. I don't know what is wrong, but they need a whole overhaul of everything they do. I have been looking for somewhere else to go, and when I do, I am out of there. The big problem is that most doctor's aren't taking new patients. I am not going to give up though, because being in terrible pain is bad enough without having to deal with this. If anyone is even THINKING about going to Dr. Chavin (Morristown Pain Consultants), PLEASE DON'T UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY,ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. God bless!!!

My niece was a patient of Dr.Chavin's for 6 months: I accompanied her to 2 of her visits and was appalled by the manner in which she was treated. From the exceptionally long wait to be seen, the insufficient assessment of her medical history, the inappropriate medications prescribed, the lack of informed consent and to Dr.Chavin's manic rantings. As a retired RN, certified in behavioral health and addictions nursing, never in my 40 years of practice have I observed a physician relating to any patient in this manner. Absolutely disgusted by his behavior toward my niece.

Dr. Chavin is the lowest of the low. Because he is a Doctor, he thinks that he is entitled to whatever he wants. On 10-20-14 he went into a very well known business in Morristown. The woman that works in that department was with another customer. She paged a backup so that someone could go over there and help. As soon as she pages, I walk over there. I work in a neighboring department. I walk up and ask if I can help him. He turns around and starts yelling. He is talking so fast and I have no idea what he is saying. I know he mentioned something about us not being able to handle a sale of this magnitude and that we don't know how to treat our customers. At this point, I am in awe. I have no idea what is going on. I literally just walked over. I said, "I'm sorry, but what?" Then he flies off the handle again!! He said, "That's what's wrong with you American workers. You American workers are all the same. You all don't know how to help customers and you all don't want to ever work." I cannot make this up. He's screaming for me to get a manager and screaming that I am going to get fired for the way I treated him. I walk away because I refuse to stand there and let him talk to me that way. I'm trying to call the manager in the process. As I walk away, he screams, "Yeah, walk away, you little tart!!" For those of you who don't know, a tart is a w h o r e. I said, "Excuse me, what did you just call me?" He said, "I called you a tart and you can tell your manager I called you that too!" He's still screaming for me to get a manager. Finally my manager walks around the corner and I walk away. Dr. Chavin is a pathetic excuse for a human being. He is rude, horrid, and unprofessional. I wonder if his staff and nurses know how he feels about "American workers". He's a gutless person. I don't know about you all, but I would not want to see a "Doctor" who acts like that. Hey, Dr. Chavin! Guess what?! You work in America, right?! I guess that clumps you into your own statement. You're an "American Worker" too!! You're a pathetic piece of trash!! Shame on you. If you don't like America, feel free to leave!! Go back to your own pathetic little country!
