I cannot stress enough how disappointed I was with Temple Hospital. The facility is filthy, I witnessed multiple HIPAA violations, but more importantly, the care received was horrendous. Residents were unaware of CT results, I had to ask for specific consults - it was three days before OFMS or ENT was consulted for a nasal fracture, I had to argue to have lab work done, and actually argued at 0300 that 1mg dilaudid was not an appropriate dosage - it was too much! The lack of communication between health care staff was appalling and the nursing staff lacks critical thinking skills. I will never go back to Temple and am currently seeking a second opinion elsewhere.

One of the dirtiest and worst hospitals I had to stay in.

After my major spinal operation. The nurses kept me pan free. That was my fear of having back surgery. Besides the pain of MS the last 15 years and pain from my back before surgery. told Dr. Rihn I could understand people with chronic pain that life was not worth living. Now, it is.

Outpatient services are so incredibly subpar. I waited for almost an hour to get registered as there were six computer stations with only two staff operating them. Waiting room was crowded and noisy with constant traffic from wheelchairs and stretchers. Had to wait another hour to get a brief X-Ray and the room was dusty and the tech didn't wash her hands or wear gloves. Had to repeat the same process for blood tests and an EKG and the whole thing took five hours!! I left exhausted and sicker than when I arrived. To make matters even worse, they test results were lost and it took two months to reschedule an appointment with the specialist. I decided not to go back. The doctors may or may not be good, but the services are horrific.

Unfortunately I have stayed on 3 different units at Temple, my experience was vastly different in each area of the hospital. First, I was in trauma ICU (9th Floor, Main Building) - care here was excellent - every time I woke up my nurse was in the room, she took great care of me and was very helpful in explaining things to my visiting family. Then I was moved to the regular Trauma floor (8th Floor, Main Building) - the food was great here, the room was relatively clean but not very nice, the nurses and PCAs were unresponsive and immature, there was always a lot of noise - and no one seemed to respond to beeping machines,(except Christian, LPN.) Later, I stayed with Ortho (8th floor Boyer,) I have zero complaints about that stay. Trauma docs saved my life, but aside from Dr. Goldberg, they leave a lot to be desired on the follow-up care - communication was practically nil, and they often made me feel uncomfortable. The ortho team is tops - I thank every one of them!
