my husband went in for a slip and fall at home. They put an IV in wrong and tried to fix it. My husbands arm became infected badly so they moved it to his chest. three days later as he was on a portable commode, the night nurse walked away when he told her he needed help wiping his bottom. So he had to do it himself. As he wiped He cut his hand open and it became infected as well. Now they say he has internal bleeding but they cant find where he's bleeding from and I cant get any answers. This has been the second worse time in my life since the death of my mother.
I don’t care about the staff’s issues, love life or anything else. The nurse station is too tooooo loud at night!! It’s bad enough to be sick and need the constant checking per hospital policy, but when the staff is obnoxiously loud, talks about personal life and most importantly about the patients!!! One person said she was tired of answering the call button for a certain room!!! Told someone else it was her “guy” so she could do whatever she wanted with him !!!!! How does someone go thru the night hearing all of this!!! When my BP was very elevated I asked the charge nurse when it would be checked again? I was given the scheduled times but told my nurse would recheck sooner and then again at the scheduled time. Not only was I not checked “sooner” , but the scheduled time came 1 1/2 hours later than what I was told!!! And I’m here because this hospital is a certified stroke center!!!!!!
Went through an absolute horrible experience. I recently went in for pneumonia and why when they are found I had an infection in my blood stream. While they were growing cultures and figuring out what the infection was I spent seven days in absolute filth . The second day I had diarrhea and after repeatedly ringing for the nurse only to get no response I had to get myself up out of the bed while wearing an oxygen line and an IV line and struggled to get to the bathroom before I would explode. Well that did not happen I could barely make it the IV line ripped out of my arm as well as the oxygen line off my face. Unfortunately I went all over myself and the bathroom floor. I sat in there out of breath shaking not knowing how to clean or even to begin period when the nurse came in I was just yelled at. I was quickly and sloppily cleaned off and thrown back in bed my back side of my legs were stained with extement.. This remain for 3 days every 6 hours and so I pleaded to be cleaned or be allowed to somehow get into a shower. But was constantly refused. Housekeeping did a quick once-over in the bathroom but it was so evident that there was diarrhea all over still. In the shower on the floor all over the wall. It was 100% unsanitary. I kept asking for my bathroom to be cleaned because I knew the diarrhea would persist. The next day the same thing happened in Wild trying to make it to the bathroom I did only to sit down on a pipe that they use to clean the urinals out. Somebody had left it down that hurt but that also caused me to go all over the bathroom again. I sat there crying I could not believe this is happening again. Once again I was not cleaned for a couple of days I had such a rash and burning all over my back side. Everybody can't passing the buck and I sat there not believing that I was in the United States in my hometown at a HomeTown Hospital. Finally on the 7 Day when I told the person that was supposed to be asking me how my experience was at the hospital about the problem he tried to make light of the situation and said oh They'll probably take something off your hospital bill for that. This is not a joking matter and I immediately ask to be signed out and was absolutely including for security guards who tried to bully me into staying after letting everyone know that I had recorded the whole mess up on my cell phone. Of course I did get out and I seek treatment at another hospital that was 2 billion percent better. It was actually scary to think about going to another hospital but I had to. I will never forget this horrible experience
I have always found Blake Hospital far better than Manatee Hospital in overall cleanliness, professionalism and attention. I received better care at Blake Hospital and all my doctors go to Blake Hospital. In an emergency, I will tell the ambulance driver to drive the extra few minutes to go to Blake Hospital rather than Manatee.
Disgusting. No house keeping. I see staff just throw on a sheet and bring people like they're cattle. Why is the ambulance crew standing in front of my room with a sick patient on their cart. The fat blonde charge nurse during the day is as useless as ti ts on a bull. What a shithole. The manager should be shot for hiring these bodies that expect to be called "nurses". Every time I went there I can hear and recite the staffs sexlife and their alcohol and marijuana history. Sickening, unprofessional. Trauma services at their center is a joke and a show for me when I can see right in to the rooms at the naked people. Now supposedly they do burns. I wonder how bad that department will smell. And again that place is too dirty to take care of someone with burns. Keep driving!!
