I had VGS surgery and the staff was amazing. Kind, friendly, knowledgeable and really went above and beyond to make me as comfortable as they could. Never ignored and quick responses when asking for help

I had the pleasure of going to St Luke's hospital yesterday with my husband for some routine procedures and was 100% impressed with the staff!!! including the cafeteria workers... I have read other comments and had none of the experiences they had. I can't speak for the ER but the pre op nurses/staff and recover staff were FABULOUS!!!

Horrible experience for my daughter. She is 38 weeks pregnant and not feeling well so she went in and they did a vaginal check and my daughter informed the doctor she was hurting her, the doctor said, "oh sorry, I forgot to take my rings off" The doctor took her ring off and placed the same glove back on her hand and did another check. It was a dirty environment and I am shocked that hospital is still open.

1 STAR BECAUSE I HAVE TO WITH HONESTY. NEVER GO TO TEMPE ST. LUKES. THEY TRULY DON'T CARE FOR BEST INTEREST. THE WALK IN PROCESS IS TERRBILE. I WAS BRUSHED OFF INTO AN EMPTY LOBBY FOR 30 MINUTES THEN I WAS TOLD IT'S AN ER WAIT TO.BE CALLED I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW LONG IT WILL BE OR GIVE YOU ADVICE ABOUT MY REASON FOR THE VISIT. AFTER MAKING MY FIRST COMPLAINT TO THE TRIAGE NURSE ABOUT THE FRONT DESK ASSISTANT I THEN WAS BASICALLY TOLD I JUST HAVE A SPRAIN IN MY LOWER BACK WHEN I KNOW 97% BASED ON MY SAME VISIT TWO YEARS TO THE SAME HOSPITAL THAT I HAVE A HERNIATED SLIPPED DISC IN LOWER L4 AREA. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME A X-RAY WHICH IS THE MAIN REASON I WENT BACK TO SEE A DOCTOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. TOLD ME WHEN I ASKED AGAIN THAT I JUST NEED PHYSICAL THERAPY (WHICH IS SLIGHTLY TRUE) BUT IGNORED MY INJURY AND POSSIBLY FALSE DIAGNOSED MY CONDITION. I SAT IN A PATIENT ROOM FOR 3+ HOURS, FOR A VICODIN! WHEN I ALREADY HAVE THAT AT HOME AND IT DOESN'T DO MUCH. IN FACT I CALLED IT A MASK AND THE NURSE GOT VERY SHORT WITH ME. LAST VISIT TO THERE WONDERFUL HOSPITAL IT WAS MORPHINE!!(WHICH I WAS IN MUCH MORE PAIN AT THE TIME BUT STILL). NO BLANKET OFFERED IN A COLD ROOM. WAS TOLD MORE ABOUT MY HEALTHY KIDNEYS THEN MY HERNIATED DISC(WHICH WAS MY ORIGINAL REASON FOR TODAYS LOVELY VISIT. THEN TO TOP IT OFF AFTER SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE I WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A DOCTOR'S NOTE TO EXCUSE THE NEXT FEW DAYS OFF AND THEY CONVENIENTLY "FORGOT" TO GIVE ME ONE. SO WALKING OUT STILL SOMEWHAT IN DISCOMFORT I HAD TO WALK BACK INTO THE BEST FRONT DESK ASSISTANTS(TOTALLY BEING SARCASTIC) AND ASK THEM IF I COULD SEE MY AWESOME NURSEREAL QUICK AND GRAB THAT DOCTOR'S NOTE FROM THEM. A DIFFERENT DESK ASSISTANT TELLS ME TO GO SIT IN A SHORT, INCONSIDERATE TONE TO GO SIT IN THE LOBBY. NOW ITS 6PM AND THERE 15+ PEOPLE IN THE LOBBY. SHE DIDN'T MOVE FOR 5 MINUTES TO ATTEMPT NOR FOFILL MY QUICK SHORT REQUEST WHICH WAS LITERALLY AND ACCURATELY 20 STEPS FROM WHERE MY NURSE WAS LOCATED. I WAITED 10 MINUTES LONGER BEFORE REAPROACHING THE DESK AND ASKING IF SHE HAD HEARD ANYTHING WHICH I DIDN'T HAVE FAITH IN AT ALL. SHE SAYS "SIR AS YOU CAN SEE, WE ARE BUSY SO YOUR GONNA HAVE TO WAIT WHEN ITS YOUR TURN." I LOOKED AT HER WITH A BLANK FACE AND SAID CAN I JUST WALK BACK THERE REAL QUICK AND FIRMLY REPEATED HER NASTY SELF. I WALKED AWAY AND JUST STOOD IN FRONT OF THE DOOR UNTIL THE NEXT NURSE WAS COMING OUT TO CALL IN A PATIENT. I ASKED THE FIRST ONE..... HE SAYS YEAH OK. IM SERIOUSLY FED UP AT THIS POINT AND AM IN PAIN. THE NEXT ONE LUCKILY (IF THERE WAS ANY DURING THIS VISIT) WAS MY NURSE WHO SAID YEAH LET ME GET THAT FOR YOU REAL QUICK AND CAME RIGHT BACK OUT!!! I STOPPED HIM, TOLD HIM HOW AWESOME REALLY WAS (TOTALLY REDEEMED HIMSELF) FOR DOING THAT AND I WANTED TO TALK TO THE FRONT DESK ASSITANT MANAGER. THE HEAD TRIAGE NURSE CAME OUT AND TOLD HER ABOUT THE TREATMENT I REICIEVED FROM THE LADY. CALM AND COLLECTED AS MUCH AS I COULD I TOLD HER HOW SHE TALKED TO ME ABOUT MY REQUEST. I LOOK OVER AND THE GIRL IS LAUGHING AT ME (WHICH THE TRIAGE NURSE CLEARLY HEARD AND SAW). I POINTED OUT HOW UNPROFESSIONAL IT WAS, THEN SHE GETS UP AND STARTS YELLING AT ME THAT IM MAKING IT ALL UP AND THAT SHE WANTED AN ANSWER HOW SHE WAS DISRESPECTFUL TOWARDS ME. I VERBATIM TOLD HER WHAT SHE DID AND WHILE SHE WAS TALKING OVER ME ABOUT HOW HOSTILE I'M GETTING, GO FIGURE ANOTHER PATIENT WALKING IN THE BACK STOPS AND SAYS I TOTALLY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING HE IS SAYING. THE LADY IS STILL SNAPPING BACK AT ME SO I SAY, IM TRYING TO SHOW YOU ALL YOUR MISTREATING YOUR CUSTOMERS/PATIENTS AND YOU'RE TRULY TERRIBLE AT YOUR JOB. I JUST GAVE YOUR HOSPITAL MY FEEDBACK ON THE EXPERIENCE THAT YOU HAVE MADE EVEN MORE WORSE THEN ITS ALREADY BEEN. SHE JUST STOPS LISTENING SO I STOPPED AS WELL. I LOOK AT THE TRIAGE NURSE STILL STANDING THERE SHAKING HER HEAD HIM WHAT I THINK IS AND HOPE IS RAW EMBARRASSMENT. I APOLOGIZED FOR MY ACTIONS AND TOLD HER SPECIFICALLY, SHE WAS AMAZING BUT IM GOING TO WRITE A VERY LENGTHY COMPLAINT ABOUT THE FRONT DESK STAFF MEMBER AND MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE AT THIS HOSPITAL. THEN THE GIRL GETS UP AND STARTS GETTING NASTY AGAIN. I SAID HEY WE'RE DONE HERE AND WALKED TOWARDS THE EXIT. SHE YELLS OUT, "HAVE A GREAT NIGHT" OR SOMETHING TO THAT EXTENT. I STOPPED AND SAID, YOU'RE DOING A GREAT JOB! KEEP IT UP IF YOU HAVE ONE. FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AND TREATMENT DON'T GO HERE. 2ND OPINION TOMORROW AND SEEKING AN ATTORNEY. ALSO IF IT HELPS WHOEVER THIS CONCERNS IF IT DOES, THE FRONT DESK ASSISTANT THAT WAS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON I'VE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF GETTING SERVICE WAS THE PETITE, SHORT HAIRED BLONDE GIRL, MAYBE MID 20'S AND SHE HAS A COWBELL STYLE SEPTUM NOSE PIERCING. SHE NEEDS TO FIND A DIFFERENT LINE OF WORK BECAUSE SHE HAS NO CLASS OR RESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS/PATIENTS AND SHE ALONE IS SETTING THE BAR EXTREMELY LOW ON THE BEGINNING EXPERIENCE IN THE ER AT YOUR TERRIBLE HOSPITAL.
