I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Bogan. He is the 4th sleep doctor I've seen over the past 15 years, but he was the first one who actually listened and took me seriously. If you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, the vast majority of sleep doctors will be completely unable to look past it, even if it is only one component of a larger more complex sleep issue. I have experienced decades of seemingly random ailments (chronic pain, executive dysfunction, chronic fatigue, etc.), and I came to my appointment armed with all the evidence obtained from my medical records that I could to make my case that there was at least a reasonably good chance that a central sleep disorder (idiopathic hypersomnia, narcolepsy without cataplexy, alpha-delta sleep disorder, etc.) was the common cause behind all or most of my health problems. In my appointment, he was incredibly friendly and professional, but even more importantly, he approached my case with genuine curiosity about the connections between my symptoms rather than tunnel vision, and he actually took the time to thoroughly review the information I had compiled. He ordered a MSLT, something I had practically begged other sleep doctors for, to no avail. I won't actually have the test for another 2 months, so I have no idea what the outcome will ultimately be, but after being dismissed by 3 other sleep specialists, it was incredibly validating to be taken seriously. It is unfortunately extremely common for doctors to be so siloed in their specialty that they dismiss evidence from outside their own area of expertise, and end up chasing symptoms rather than getting to the root of the problem. Fortunately, Dr. Bogan is not one of those specialists. I drove 4 hours round-trip for that appointment, and it was absolutely worth it.

Dr. Bogan is the kindest doctor. He listens to my current problem & answers my questions.. He is willing to work with me. Takes time, doesn't rush. During exam if he finds a problem unrelated to sleep, he suggest I see my other doctors. Goes the extra mile! Staff longevity which says a lot about his character. Recommend highly!

Although Dr Bogan in knowledgeable, he doesn't listen to his patients. He wants only the facts. He makes conclusions quickly. I tried to explain to him the awakenings I was having. He looks at the report and says it says here you slept 8 hours. You had about 3 events an hour, which is normal. I tried to explain that when you awake 7 - 8 times a night the numbers are altered. But he doesn't care about what your input is, only the machine. Sleep is something a machine can only vaguely gage. It is a very human experience. I gave him reports created from my cpap and he said they were garbage to him. He couldn't interpret the data it was too detail for him. Don't waste your money.

Dr. Bogan is a very intelligent man, and he's always so laid back. He never makes you lose hope. Sleep disorders are very disruptive to peoples' lives and no one in the general public seems to understand it...they think I'm just lazy and don't care. It's nice to go see Dr. Bogan and see that there are people in the world here to help. I highly recommend him.
