Ratings for Dr. Jane Wu
2.5
After reading the previous comments about Dr Wu I was almost dreading my referral appointment with her, however I was pleasantly surprised. I found her to be nothing at all like the reviews. She was kind, friendly and answered all my questions with patience and understanding. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and to assure me that everything would be fine so I shouldn't worry. She referred me for further testing and was there to explain the results (everything was fine) I would not hesitate to recommend her.
I find it unfortunate that I agree with the two other patients' accurate ratings and comments although this Doctor seemed knowledgable to an extent in her field. However, in my experience, she did not take all medical illnesses into consideration, and disregarded a majority of them. She displays herself to be arrogant and irritable of having a new patient in, questioning me with a harsh, rude tone. It seemed as though she was already judging me the moment I stepped into her office room. She was discourteous while also judgemental of how my life and habits may have affected my medical illnesses. There was little to no comfort in my ability to comprehend what I am experiencing in regards with my illnesses. She prescribed medications where one was irrelevant to me as I never experienced the cause for the prescription. I do not plan on seeing her again.
This doctor is terrible! Her manner is abrupt, rude and arrogant. I was hoping that young new doctors would be enlightened but this one behaves like a petulant teenager. She spends no time asking questions...just throws prescriptions at you. Her knowledge of basic nutrition is outdated and she resents being asked about her decisions. Too bad for White Rock!
Since she is a qualified medical practitioner, I cannot say she is not knowledgeable. Therefore, I gave her an OK. Staff was one lady that seemed pleasant on the phone and just said have a seat the doctor will call you when she is ready. So, no complaints. However, the main reason for terrible rating of Doctor Wu and me rating her in the first place is that I felt she was very rude and angry for no reason that I could decipher other than I saw another Doctor, which is my right. I can tell you if it was someone else, maybe they would have lunged at her. Whatever the reason for her anger or personal feeling, she could have communicated it in a way that was better. I don't expect perfection, but such rudeness and such an accusatory tone is completely unprofessional and reflective of a huge ego and arrogance. we go doctors to seek help for our ailments, for healing, not to be wounded by words that can hurt like knives. Since I saw her, I have withdrawn to myself and questioned what I could have done to cause any pain to anybody through words. But simultaneously, all bad things that ever happened to me, in terms of interactions with people, came up. It was truly emotionally scarring, especially since it was so unexpected. I was completely defenseless.
