Dr. Wong performed the carpal tunnel release surgery on both of my hands. She is very thoughtful and considers what is best for her patients. For instance, she makes the incision slightly to the side so that the scar is not right above the area operated on. If, I remember the justification correctly that way the scar tissue would not interfere with the repair. All I can say for certain is that I was able to massage and care for the scar as advised without experiencing much pain. Moreover, within a couple of months of surgery the scar is barely detectable, as it follows the natural lines on my palm. As a layperson, I can only marvel at Dr. Wong's surgical skills. Eventhough I was very anxious, Dr. Wong and team made me feel very comfortable during the surgery. Considering that there was only local "freezing" it is very impressive. After the surgery, I received written instructions on how to excercise and care for my hand, which were explained to me in detail. The follow up was very efficient and helpful. The surgical instructions outlined the timing and method of the follow up. Within 3 weeks of my surgery, I received a text message with a link to a survey which included taking photos of my hand and several questions. Within a day, the doctor called me to discuss my progress. Throughout the entire process everyone was very patient and answered all my follow up questions. If I was forced to find an area for improvement, I would wish the office booked the surgeries a bit more in advance, so it is easier to plan. It seems that the surgeries are scheduled 2 weeks in advance, which does not leave a lot of time to prepare. However, it may be just my anxiety talking, though. I would highly recommend Dr. Wong and team based on my experience throughout the two procedures and the relief achieved. If I need a plastic surgeon again, Dr. Wong's office would definitely be my first choice.
