I was a patient in the emergency department on Sunday February 28th . Dr. Vandersluis was amazing. I needed a cardio version and he was so helpful and informative . He talked me through and was reassuring. The nursing staff were great too. I came in at shift change and the nurses who settled me in were great as was the new shift Albert and Melissa and nursing student in these tough times when you can't have anyone with you I felt well taken care of. Thanks so much Dr. Vandersluis and staff

Dr. Rudy Vandersluis was very polite, mannerly and expressed himself clearly to me and to my daughter on the phone which is very helpful in my situation I really want to thank him and the nurses that was on that shift for being very kind.

On Dec 31,2019 my wife went to the Oshawa Hospital where she met Dr. Vandersluis. My wife had a kidneys problem and could not sleep and suffering for more than two weeks. She previously seen two doctors at the E.R with negative results. Finally on Dec 31, she met Dr. Vandersluis where he did a very thorought investigation about her health situation, took the time to listen to us, very patient and provided her the good medication where she could after slept and end her suffering. To conclude , this doctor is very competent and untill now my wife could enjoy a better quality of life with me and ours grand -childreen. Thanks god we had this doctor that day. Again thanks Doc.

In to much of a hurry to care about the actual patient.

Does the bare minimum with no consideration for the patient. If you get him in the ER ask for a new Dr.

I was taken by Ambulance to Lakeridge Health Centre after I had very severe symptoms of a heart attack. The whole works - chest pains, neck and arm pains, difficulty breathing, etc. They did tests on me and ER Doctor (Rudy Vanderslius) sent me home with a note that he was going to refer me to the Oshawa Wellness Centre for further tests (have copies of this). Both myself and my wife objected as I had severe chest pain and could hardly think/walk. Something was awfully wrong. The following night I had a complete severe Heart Attack and my wife drove me (not enough time for ambulance and only 10 minutes away) to Lakeridge Emerg. After subsequent tests they found I required a triple heart bypass. The end result - many thanks to Dr Manoj Tahiliani and staff for detecting this (and saving my life), and zero kudos to Rudy Van Der Sluis who almost killed me.

I took my daughter to the Emergency Room at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Dr. Vandersluis was the best thing that could have happened to us. My daughter was seriously mauled with her face, throat, shoulder and leg covered with deep dog bites. Dr. Vandersluis appeared to be the best at what he does. I rated him based on what he did for my little girl and feel blessed to have met him. Lakeridge Health has an amazing ER team and we are forever grateful for the care they provided to our family. I recently had to take my husband to ER at the Oshawa Hospital and he was seen by Dr Vandersluis. We found him to be a very competent and thorough doctor, very patient with a kindly bedside. I think he would make an excellent family doctor. Thank you Dr Vandersluis for dealing so promptly with my husband's quite serious condition, and for making sure that he saw the right people. March 13/12 I met Dr. Vandersluis in Lakeview Hospital in Oshawa, and was very pleased with how he conducted himself. He took the time to explain how serious my medical condition was, and the options I had open to me when dealing with my blood clot. In my humble opinion, I think he is an asset to that hospital.
