I visited Dr. Hawke about 25 years ago because I had continuous Sinusitis since I was a child. He’s a smart and very nice guy. He examined me and told me that I had sinus polyps. I asked him about removing them and he said it’s a painful operation and they grow back so he recommended that I do nothing. This year, I experienced a complete shut down of my nasal passageways for 8 months; I couldn’t breathe at all through my nose; I couldn’t smell or taste. I was referred to another ENT who said that not only did I have polyps throughout my sinuses but I had a severe deviated septum which he believed was the original cause of the Sinusitis and polyps. Two months ago, I underwent an operation to fix the deviated septum and clear out the polyps. The operation was not only painless but after a lifetime of severe congestion, I can now breathe perfectly 100% through my nose; an amazing change in my life. I do a daily nasal rinse with a steroid additive which should eliminate the re-growth of polyps. Why Dr. Hawke missed the deviated septum and advised me not to have the operation is a mystery to me.

I could not be more grateful of Dr. Michael Hawke. He was not only knowledgeable about my dad's allergies , he was extremely caring. I left his office and as he realized my dad had not OHIP, he offered his service at not cost. Not many individual in this planet would do that. My best wishes to him and his love ones. I also have to note that his assistant had the upmost tact with this situation. I am eternally grateful and still moved by his kindness. I would score him 10 if the option was available.
