I first met Dr. von Maur when I was considering some adjustments to my nose around the time I had sinus surgery. I decided not to do the surgery on my nose but I was so impressed with Dr. von Maur that when I decided to get a breast augmentation, I went to him. Dr. von Maur is meticulous. He listens to every detail and gave me a couple consultations to make sure he knew what I really wanted. He was kind and very professional. He offered computer imagery so I could tell how my body would look after the procedure. I was so pleased with the results that now 13 years later I’m heading back to him for lift. My breasts are still symmetrical, but after a couple kids, gravity and the aging process, I could use a tightening up. I trust Dr. von Maur so much that I'm going to have him treat my sun spots instead of a dermatologist.

I was so terrified when one of my breasts started swelling up, and within two weeks had doubled in size. I'd had silicone breast implants put in in the late 90s and had never had issues with them and didn't know what might be wrong. Dr. von Maur had me cover all the bases, including getting a mammogram. It turns out that it was capsular contracture, scarring forming around the implants. The staff at CosmetiCare got me in right away for an implant exchange surgery. They were amazing. Dr. von Maur has a highly capable and caring team. They made me laugh when I would go in and it took the weight off the fear I was feeling. Dr. von Maur also kept me calm by reassuring me through the process. In fact, one of my breasts swelled up afterward and he could have waited to see if it was just an infection that would go away if I took antibiotics, but he chose the safe route and had me come back to remove the implants. He is having me wait to let my body heal, and then he'll try to put in implants in again in a few months. I trust his medical expertise. He makes me feel safe.

I checked out other doctors for my breast implant exchange, and Dr. von Maur was outstanding. I absolutely love him. The implants from a previous surgery in 2003 were getting encapsulated and my breasts were visibly separating from the implants. I looked weird in a bathing suit. The other doctors were very rushed in their consultations, but Dr. von Maur calmly took the time to explain encapsulation really thoroughly and also to lay out the options for sizes. He recommended a size up, which I was afraid would be too large because I didn't want to be a fake big-breasted lady. But I trusted him and his recommendation turned to be perfect. I can go to work and look professional in a shirt, but I can also rock a tank top or a swim suit without looking huge. He also fixed the cleavage which was too far apart. Now my breasts fall nicely together.

I had acne scars and many small wrinkle lines in my face that I suddenly got in my early 40's that I wanted taken care of. I wanted microneedling to be done by a plastic surgeon rather than an RN. Before I found Dr. von Maur, I consulted with five plastic surgeons about microneedling. They tried to sell me on things I didn't want. but Dr. von Maur actually told me I didn't need extra things I asked for. It's clear that he was focused on doing what was best for me. One doctor said that to clear the acne and lines would take five to six sessions, but Dr. von Maur said that was nonsense. He was just going to go deep and take care of it in one session. He did one microneedling session and went deep and took out the acne scars and made the skin on my face tighter and fuller with the collagen regeneration and removed many of the lines on my face. He stood out completely. He is just a really great fit for me as a doctor and I'm planning on getting more work done from him soon.

My sister and I inherited big noses with a hump in the middle from our mom. She'd gotten her nose done by university residents years ago. They did an okay job, so we looked into the UCLA residency program for ours. We found out that they would only see us for one follow up visit after the surgery. Dr. von Maur and the CosmetiCare staff were a sharp contrast. My sister and I had our surgeries the same day right after the new year. It's only been a month, and Dr. von Maur's already seen us 4 or 5 times. He's been so attentive the whole way through. He is serious, but we love to make him laugh and he has always understood how nervous I have been about the whole thing, so he's given me lots of pep talks. In fact, right after the surgery when I woke up, he was right there to say it turned out perfectly. Before the surgery I was so self-conscious that I wore glasses to cover the hump on my nose, and I would hate to be stopped at red lights, because I had this fear that the person in the car next to me would stare at me and judge me. Now I'm wearing contacts and everyone says Dr. von Maur got the exact right shapes for our faces.

One of my saline implants that I'd had for almost 20 years burst in July 2013. Because of circumstances that kept arising in my life, I couldn't go in to get them exchanged until a year later. The implant did take about eight months to deflate, but when I finally got in to have the implant exchange with Dr. von Maur, a bit of damage had apparently been done. He did an excellent job with the exchange. He is very matter of fact and no-nonsense, and I like that because I feel usually doctors like that do a better job because they're focused on their work. I also felt comfortable and confident with him every step of the way. The procedure was much easier than I'd expected and I didn't have much pain. In fact, I only took the pain pills for one day and then used Tylenol. When Dr. von Maur called to check in on me the following day, I think he was surprised that I answered instead of the friend who was taking care of me.

Dr. von Maur stood head and shoulders about the rest when I interviewed all the doctors I could about the mastopexy procedure I wanted. He was really detail-oriented and attentive to exactly what I wanted, and he made sure it turned out that way. He encountered issues with my body during surgery from the saline implants I'd had from eight years ago, so he took every precaution to make sure I would be okay. Now I look amazing. I have the cleavage I've been wanting for a long time. Another thing I liked about Dr. von Maur was he didn't get overly personal or "touchy feely." For this kind of procedure, I feel much safer knowing my doctor is professionally-minded and focused on the task. He always got to the point, and was very kind about it.

I've gone back to Dr. von Maur for several procedures since the 90s. He's done a tummy tuck, a mid-face lift, and a rhinoplasty. I go back to him for a feeling of mental ease, because not only is he a good, caring person, he's so careful with his work that I've never had an infection even though I'm a diabetic. He also tells me upfront what he can't do and what he can. He's not trying to sell me a fantasy. Most recently he did a liposuction and a "Brazilian Butt Lift." I knew it was going to turn out well, but I was surprised at how amazing I look and the constant compliments from my co-workers and clients. I'm always looking to take care of myself, especially as I get older, and I will always go back to Dr. von Maur.

I flew from Denver to Southern California because Dr. von Maur impressed me the most out of every plastic surgeon that I've seen for a consultation. I got the recommendation from someone I saw while on vacation while in Newport Beach, so I had seen some of his "work" in real life. Dr. von Maur was very patient and open to discussing what I wanted during our consults, even though I am a runner and wanted a significant increase in CCs. I trusted him to give me the largest size for my lifestyle and comfort, and now I'm a 32G. I love how they look and I have no discomfort or pain while running. He is an amazing surgeon and everyone at CosmetiCare was helpful and professional.

After 7 kids and more than 20 years, I finally decided to get the tummy tuck, breast augmentation, and liposuction combo that they call they "mommy makeover."
