was told I was having Lasik and just before they took me in was told i wasn't having that . they are doing PRK now .also nobody tells you how painful this will be when you get home no amount of advil or pain killers could take away the pain...staff was very rude and pushy and BTW after all of that 2 months later I need to use my glasses Howard C.
I had PRK surgery 6 months ago with Dr. Jeffrey Dello Russo. I would recommend to everyone considering to do your research and go to multiple consultations. When you go in for a consultation here they will pressure you into a non-refundable deposit that day to get a ~$1k discount, but any good Dr. should respect that you need to do your homework first. I was actually told by the Dr. during my consultation that I'd be getting Lasik, which has a shorter recovery time and is much less painful, but the day of surgery I was told "you're definitely getting PRK not Lasik because you have thin corneas" even though the Dr previously told me otherwise, so that was certainly concerning and I felt ill prepared. I have tons of friends who had gotten both Lasik and PRK with other Drs and they all ensured me this would be life changing and so worth it... well, I will tell you it was absolutely not. Now, 6 months later when my vision should be stable, I struggle to see at night with halos and glares that I never had before and my right eye is blurry and I have double vision. I don't know whether they screwed up, but I certainly wish I either went to a different dr or I just never spent the thousands of dollars for a botched and excruciatingly painful surgery (PRK was the most painful experience of my life). Then the wasted time and missed work or trekking to BK or the UES once a month to meet with staff (not the Dr) and be told well it's not perfect 20/20 but it's close enough...they made me feel like I was crazy even though I continued to struggle to read the eye chart. As an update, I finally met with the Dr yesterday for the first time since surgery in November. He confirmed that I went from -6 vision to +1 in that eye, an overcorrection and I still don't really understand how this happened. He said it only happens 2% of the time that patients have to come back for a second PRK procedure, but having done more research I think this statistic is drastically understated. Oh and my night vision is bad in the one eye, still horrible halos and glares, so that's new from the surgery (he said give it a year to go away). So I spent thousands of dollars to not wear contacts and guess what, I'm back in contacts in one eye and it's suggested I need to have the procedure again. Hopefully this can help others who are considering this procedure.
The staff at Dello Russo has been great before, during and after my surgery. Had Lasik in October and could see a great deal better as soon as I stood up from the procedure. Michael Torres answered all my questions before and after the procedure via text message even if I asked after his office hours. Can't believe how good my vision is (20/15). I could not read a license plate 10 ft. In front of me without contacts before getting lasik done. It is nerve wracking to trust your vision to someone, but Dr. Joseph Dello Russo is the best in this field. Highly recommend this office! 1 North Washington Ave. Bergenfield, NJ 07621
I had a wonderful experience at Dello Russo vision. They made me feel extremely comfortable during the LASIK procedure and are extremely concerned with your vision and well being. I highly recommend Dr. Dello Russo and his associates if you are contemplating LASIK. You won't be disappointed!
I had chosen Dr. Joseph Dello Russo for LASIK. I was reffered to him by my friend and had become familiar of his fame on Z100. I had read up on his history correcting eye vision with lasik as well as his techniques. His YouTube channel teaches you how the procedure is done and how the procedure has changed over the years for higher precision and accuracy. My lasik procedure was very successful and I cannot believe that I am seeing perfect vision every day. The consultation was very thorough and the examinations reassured me that they carefully evaluate my eyes before considering to become eligible for lasik. All my questions and concerns were answered in the most prompt, professional, and kind way. The staff is excellent over at the NJ and Lake Success office. I would definitely recommend Dello Russo Laservision to anyone interested in lasik. The procedure cost is reasonable and the recovery period is very smooth with their instructions. The staff does their best to take care of you. My follow up check-ups were great and they are very informative on how they handle each patient. I cannot thank Dr. Joseph Dello Russo enough for correcting my vision. My life has changed for the best without the hassle of dealing with contact lenses and glasses. Trust your eyes with Dr. Dello Russo, it's a lasik practice that can be truly trusted.
I met with Dr. Joseph Dello Russo's son, Dr. Jeff Dello Russo. I visited their Brooklyn branch and while the assistant was checking my vision and asking me questions she asked me to stop reading the pamphlet and packet the secretary gave to me. I thought that was rude and her English was poor as well. Although other offices provide different price packages for the procedure, this place only offered me one. I was told $7000 is the normal price, but they would give me a student discount and get the procedure done for $5000. It's great, but a number of choices would have been better. This place was sued over 1000 times, so how should I know to trust them? She also didn't mention the price until I did. I did some research and there is another laser correction procedure called LASEK. He said that LASIK is better for my high prescription than LASEK, which is a lie, because a higher Rx requires him to cut deeper into my cornea; LASEK does not cut a flap and would be better for me.
I just had my surgery done by Dr. Dello Russo on February 1st 2014. I am completely satisfied with the results. The staff are very friendly and professional since my first appointment. They were able to answer all of my questions and I was able to speak to Dr. Dello Russo on my first consultation. My friend did the surgery at another facility and he pretty much told me the experience was like a car dealership all business and no customer care. That was not my experience with Dr. Dello Russo. The day of the surgery was even more informative. I was given instructions and then placed in a room were the technicians were very friendly and would narrate everything that was going on during the surgery. The surgery itself took less than what I expected. After the Procedure I was placed in a room with recliners where I was asked to rest for 1hr. It was amazing that after they removed my protective contact lenses I was able to see so clear and even read the highway signs on the way home
I had been thinking about getting Lasik surgery for the past 5 years but I was hesitant about letting just anyone do surgery on my eyes. The staff and doctors at Dello Russo Vision Center are extremely professional and very helpful. They answered all of my questions and put me completely at ease with all of my worries. Deciding to get the vision correction surgery with Dr. Dello Russo was the best decision I have made in my life. It really did open my eyes to a whole new world. Thank you to Dr. Dello Russo and his staff for everything. I was amazed that I was able to see clearly only a few hours after surgery. If you are thinking about getting Lasik surgery then you should really make your free consultation appointment with Dr Dello Russo. Thankk you to Dr. Dello Russo and his staff for taking the time and effort to put my reservations to rest and answering all of my questions, and most of all THANK YOU for giving me my vision and freedom back.
