Prism Eye Institute (Brampton)

Beware! Please read the reviews closely before you decide to go there. I did not and regret it! I met with Dr. Maharaj at the Prism Eye Institute clinic in January of this year. They prescribed be very expensive medications and treatment plans. I asked them for a copy of my test reports. Since then I have followed up numerous times by phone as well as by emails with no success at all. Do I as a patient not have a right to my own test reports…what would the reason be for a clinic not giving the patient their own report…do they have something to hide…I cannot help but have these questions now.. I agree with what another reviewer has said – the Ombudsman should audit them! Also with the government moving towards privatization of healthcare, I hope they have rules to protect us from these kind of players and protect our rights. This was a money grab !

Terrible communication 'process' Staff will leave their voice-mail full for weeks so that you can't even leave a message, and their call center never answers

Receptionists are rude. Took 3 hours to see a doctor.

Think twice about going to this clinic, its all about the $`s!!! Very little communication on the entire procedure, after my last treatment i was given two prescriptions, a eye drop (steroid) and a strong antibiotic, all that was said by Dr. Yang I'm prescribing you to medications, no explanation, i assumed they were simple dry eye drops.......What Dr. prescribes you a STRONG antibiotic when I have no infection and the steroid drop is only used when there's a inflammation .....for get about calling they NEVER answer, Its been four days since i left a message for the Dr. who has yet to contacted me, BRUTAL, and honestly I question Dr. Yangs credentials!

Sitting here from last 31/2 hours. My appointment was at 11.30. Still it May be another hour. Doctors May be good but wait time unacceptable.

All the bells and whistles does not make up for dismal lack of patient care. 1. Hard to reach by phone/email 2. Long wait time to see Dr Varma(impression that your time is less valuable) even with scheduled appointment It’s exhausting, think twice about ‘prism eye institute’. There’s other well qualified and attentive Medical facilities out there.

Dr Khan rates a five star. A few staff members rate a one star. Poor customer service. I left a voice message with a return number, five days later i'm still waiting for a call from prism Brampton. They encourage online communication, however, 5 days later and still no communication from their end. Disorganized. Mixes up appointments, gives incorrect information. PRISM doesn't give a hoot about the above comments because the clinic is always full.

I was sent to Prism Eyecare Institute by my eye doctor for tests. I had 5 tests done. Two tests were not covered by OHIP. For those tests, I paid $265.00. When the tests were completed, the doctor said she didn't see anything that the eye doctor was concerned about. I was not given any other results or reports about all of the tests. Two months later, I still had not received any results so my husband went to see about the results. They staff were willing to give him the results. The results of the tests covered by OHIP were free, but the doctor's notes and the results of the other tests would cost an additional $30.00. Apparently, after you are willing to pay for tests, you should be willing to pay for the results as well on top of the test cost. This makes no sense and it is not fair to the patients.

There only looking to make more money by booking additional appointments that are not necessary. Doctor says one thing to book surgery at hospital meanwhile appointment desk will try and book another appointment in office before surgery just to make another buck. Yet, when I called them out on it they tried to tell me I don't understand the English language of what the doctor told me...sorry i understood him very clear same as the assist before him that said the same thing. Also don't expect to be seen at the time you were schedule for. Only saw doctor 2 hours after schedule appointment time.
