Biography

PT, DPT Education: DPT, Oakland University BS in Health Science, Oakland University Membership: • American Physical Therapy Association since 2014 • Michigan Physical Therapy Association • APTA Sections: Women’s Health Professional Involvement: Leah has assisted in research defining ‘normal’ mobility of the low back in children and adolescents. Leah has also participated in research to assess the impact of BMI and age on fitness levels of adolescent male boy scouts. Leah will be starting Oakland’s Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) program in September 2018. Leah will also be completing a certification specializing in women’s health physical therapy. Experience: Leah has always loved movement analysis and understanding how the human body was designed to function that stemmed from her history as a ballet dancer. Leah is passionate about understanding the source of patient’s symptoms and designing a specific treatment plan tailored to each patient to help them reach their personal goals. During her time completing her Doctorate degree, Leah underwent training internships in both hospital and manual based physical therapy clinics. She also completed a 3-month internship at Beaumont Women’s Urology Center working in the specialty of pelvic and women’s health physical therapy treating both men and women with pelvic floor dysfunction including incontinence, chronic constipation, dyspareunia and pelvic pain.
