I am lodging a formal complaint against Dr. Shazia Ali. Today my 18 year old daughter came in for a consultation regarding a breast reduction. She is a tall, athletic build. Instead of listening to her and being empathetic she didn’t listen and told her that her BMI isn’t in a good range for this. Being someone who’s had this surgery, she is 100% healthy and eligible for this. She came home in tears because this doctor treated her so poorly and body shamed her. She also made her feel badly for not having a family doctor. Ours left the country, this is no fault of ours and we’ve been on waiting lists for years. Reading reviews on Google and Rate my MD it seems as though this is normal for her. How is she still practising? Is there not an oathe doctors make to care for their patients? On your website it says all this fluff that people will be taken care of. I’m disgusted at this woman body shaming another woman in 2024.

I appreciate that Dr. Ali is prompt in her referrals and I always feel heard. Overall, I've had positive experiences with Dr. Ali.

Always get appointments promptly and feel heard. She's been my doctor for years now and willing to drive across the city just to keep her as my care provider.

This Dr. Should not be practicing medicine at all. She prescribed completely unrelated medication and is only concerned about money. She does not listen to patient concerns and is extremely rude. I wonder where in the world she received her MD. Seriously, she is an absolutely horrid “doctor”.

Empathetic and knowledgeable. Writes thorough notes and reviews them (even years back) for appointments - either that, or has an insanely good memory.

Had an unpleasant visit with this doctor today. She was very condescending and belittling towards me. I felt nervous to even ask any questions as she literally makes you feel like an idiot for asking them anyways. I was thankful she would see me as a walk-in, but will not be returning for sure after todays experience.

Absolutely terrible bedside manner. She was aggressive, condescending, combative. Completely disregarded symptoms I was trying to explain (that lead to an anaphylaxis which could have killed me) and would rather berate me about my own self care (about things that weren't related to my visit). I asked for a referral to an allergist and for an epi pen prescription (which I don't think you need one for but none the less she didn't want to give me one). And then when my wife (a 20+ year critical care pro) disagreed with her reasoning not to give me one she said "Fine, your not going to listen to me anyways so here." Just atrocious behavior. If you ever wind up here ask for Dr. Hawegi. He's great.

I find Dr. Ali very pleasant and helpful with any questions or medical issues I may have. I have always had the best treatment from her including referral's for x-ray or scans.
