This doc is like no other. He shows an interest in well beyond the body part, which is what most docs do. He hugs me when he comes in. I so appreciate his seeing me as a person. I haven't had surgery with him but have had gel and cortisone injections in my knees. These can be painful, but he tells a good story or engages me in convo while he's doing it so I don't focus on the injection. It works! I wish all docs would show such interest in their patients in making them feel comfortable.

Dr.Sutphen did my TKR at the Ravine Way Outpatient center . Dr.Sutphen and his staff were wonderful, everything went great! Dr.Sutphen treats you like family,he called me the night before surgery, and 2 times after surgery. You are not just a number to him,he's genuine. This was my second TKR,first one was done at the hospital by a different doctor.I showed up for surgery at the hospital only to sit around and wait for over an hour, then when I got in a room everything was rush, rush, they were running behind. The Ravine Way Surgery Center was a much better experience and I felt there was much less of a chance of getting COVID than there was at a Hospital.

I’ve never had a doctor call me the night before the surgery and promised to take care of me looking forward in me feeling better. I had left my hip replacement surgery in August and December 1st which is in three days I will have my right hip done. My first procedure went without no issues and now I’m looking for the same result, this Dr Sutphen said now that you e had your surgery you are now a part of my family. That did it for me. Best Doctor ever!!!!!

Dr. Sutphen is the Best. He did total hip replacement surgery on my right hip, anterior method. Great communication - he called me the day before surgery, saw me the day of and day after in the hospital, and then called me at home the next two days. He explained every step exactly as it happened.. He makes you feel like you are the most important patient . Surgery Thursday, up and taking steps same day … home on Friday, walking upstairs to my bedroom that same day. Rehab PT going great.
Dr. Sean Sutphen is top-notch…everything you’d want in a surgeon. Thanks, Doc!

Dr. Sean Sutphen is the epitome of the BEST of the BEST! I am a retired Registered Nurse (Operating Room) of 49 years so I knew what skills and "bedside manner" I was looking for. I researched many surgeons (read all the reviews on each) in my area and chose Dr. Sutphen for my total knee replacement. He was the first surgeon I visited and I knew right away he would be my surgeon. Procedure was performed with robotic-assistance and I couldn't be happier with my results. Had surgery on Tuesday and home on Thursday. Dr. Sutphen was the ultimate in patient education and I felt fully knowledgeable of each step of my care. He was extremely supportive and encouraging. His staff, especially Danielle, are amazing. She always confirmed that I had everything I might need to be comfortable. Physical Therapy was set up from start to finish. There was very little for me as the patient to arrange. Having said these things I am most grateful for having the opportunity to meet this truly amazing man. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Sutphen!!

Great experience, Dr. Sutphen is such a skilled surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner. Had an outpatient hip replacement and I am a new person because I have my life back. He has restored my confidence in what I feel a doctor patient relationship should entail.

Had my hip and knee replaced by Dr. Sutphen this past year. The results from the surgery couldn't have come out any better. He is by far the most wonderful doctor and man I have met over the years. He and his staff were excellent about explaining the entire process from pre-surgery all the way through the entire recovery. I can't thank them enough. I have already referred several of my friends!
