Most amazing doctor and surgeon we have had in the last 15 years of my daughters health journey. He is “real” with empathy and heartfelt knowledge and doesn’t ever make you feel neglected or silly for asking any type of question. His values radiate within his workplace staff and and they are all excellent to work with. I have never left a review for a doctor before but wanted to express how amazing he is as most people use reviews as an anchor for decisions. He’s more than a 10/10…can’t say enough to express his talents.

I will be forever great full for the new life you have given me. I come into your office with very high expectations and a difficult case. At the age of 27 a dentist told me my teeth were beyond repair and I should have them all removed. From that day on I had no self esteem. Having zero confidence in my self I had full dentures. It changed my life I would never smile, laugh and had a hard time eating in front of anyone. It effects everything you do in your life. Thankfully I have an amazing husband who loves me for me. It did have a major impact on our marriage as I would not kiss him. I felt like I was disgusting. Dr. Martyna placed 14 implants and bone grafting. My hopes and dreams where to have a full set of teeth that looked and felt like my own. I didn’t want my dentures to placed on the implants. I have six bridges now that look and feel like they are my real teeth. I just turned 40 I no longer have a low self esteem I am very confident in my self. I smile not a fake smile it feels natural now. I laugh and don’t even think are my teeth going to fall out. I enjoy food being able to chew and taste all the flavours. I can brush my teeth now and not have to put them in a cup. The most grateful thing is being able to kiss my husband and reconnect that passion that was missing for 13 years. Dr Martyna and all his staff have changed my life. They all go above and beyond compassionate, understanding and great at there job.

If you have Crazy Dental Anxiety like me, this is the place for you. All of the Staff there is Fabulous. Dr. Martyna is excellent, patient, explains everything to you and respects the fact that you are utterly terrified... Highly recommend.

Both myself & my husband were present when our daughter had her first consultation with Dr. Martyna. We were very impressed with his approach to our67 year old daughter's problems. She was born with a double hair lip & cleft palate & had many years of surgeries & visits to Toronto Sick children's hospital. She had always worn a plate in the roof of her mouth & never had any problem with food or liquid getting through the plate & into her nasal passages. Dr. Martyna felt he could successfully close her palate & along with Dr. Dr. Duncan Chambers felt it prudent to install implants & a false tooth upper plate.
After the surgery was completed & it was obviously not a success, Dr. Martyna now claims that it is her continued smoking that resulted in the unsuccessful outcome & our daughter is left with an upper plate that flips out, a hole in the roof of her mouth that is bigger than before & considerable scar tissue.
We can attest to the fact that her smoking was never mentioned as a possible reason for failure.
She is now told by both Dr. Chambers & Dr. Martyna that here is nothing that can be done to correct her present untenable condition if she doesn't stop smoking.
My question is WHY!!!! Why was this not put forth as a condition of doing anything in the first place & why must she live the rest of her life with this continual nasal outflow??? After spending many thousands of dollars to hopefully improve her situation we feel she deserves. some answers.

I underwent Double Jaw Surgery in early March with Dr.Martyna. Initially finding out that I needed this surgery was probably the scariest thing I've ever been told. After just one consultation visit with Doctor Scott I was at fully ease and knew I had been referred to the best Doctor suited to my situation.

Flash forward to the weeks leading up to surgery - we discussed back and forth what I hoped to get as a physical result of the surgery (Amount of tooth show, if I wanted genioplasty as well etc.) and in having these open discussions I am left with exactly what I could have ever hoped for in my new smile with no surprises.

The actual surgery went amazingly well, Dr.Martyna came to visit me 3 (maybe even 4) times in my 4 day post-op hospital stay to make sure everything was coming along smoothly. On top of this, he had me able to text/call him at any given moment in the following weeks with any concerns no matter how minor or major they seemed to me which was extremely comforting.

At three months post-op I can honestly say this surgery is totally behind me having healed perfectly. I can breathe through my nose 100% of the time which was absolutely not the case pre-surgery and an added bonus is that my new jaw placement has my face in a constant resting smile. Perhaps it is just finally happy to not be in pain anymore.

All in all, I have nothing but amazing things to say about Dr.Martyna and his professionalism as well as having THE most welcoming and amazing staff in his office (Bev and everyone else you are wonderful!) I am eternally grateful.

Dr. Martyna and the staff were amazing in all components of our visit. My son had his 4 wisdom teeth surgically removed, and the time and attention from all of them was outstanding. Dr. Martyna took time in the consulation to explain and answer any questions, as well as personally following up with us the day following surgery...... great job!! Charlotte L.
