Up until this past year I would have given Dr. Govindasamy high marks as a family physician. Her office staff were always hot and cold and some downright rude, but she was great.  Then it became harder and harder to get an appointment. Calling weeks ahead for prescription renewals I was barked at by the office staff that I should have called earlier and had to get a one month from a virtual clinic. Dr. G's colleagues stopped covering her patients when they needed an immediate appointment and she was now down to 2 days a week in office. Oh yeh, and she always seemed to be away, at least according to the office staff.  

Last month I got suspicious and found out she was working at a Skin Care Clinic.  Within a couple of weeks word came that she was closing practice in mid December.  Then things got even weirder.  Trying to make an appointment in the remaining 3 months was impossible, so no way to get prescriptions other than one month at a time at a virtual clinic.  Basically her patients were left high and dry.

While this doctor has the right to determine the direction of her life and career this transition out of her practice was dishonest and unfair to her patients.  The staff at her office treated any questions as the patient being rude and had no sympathy for their former clients.  All in all a disappointing experience and not what I expected when I starting seeing doctors in this practice over four years ago.

Always late, does not seem interested to help you, always have to wait at least a month to get an appointment with her.

I have been a patient with Dr. Govindasamy for several years now, she’s knowledgeable, very understanding and doesn’t hesitate to try and figure out the problem. She does not hesitate to refer me to a specialist when necessary. Dr. Govindasamy was recommended to me by my retiring family doctor.

After searching for a family doctor for years, I discovered Dr. Govindasamy by chance as she was accepting new patients. As someone that suffers from anxiety/depression, she has been very empathetic and caring towards how it has affected my health. I understand family doctors are usually under time constraints with tight schedules but she always take the time to answer my questions thoroughly. I appreciate that she follows up with my anxiety/depression each visit and her caring thought of mind makes me feel safe and comfortable to bring up my most concerning and often difficult health concerns.

Dr. Govindasamy is always on time, listens to my concerns, and really emphasizes prevention. I feel very fortunate to have her as my doctor.

My original family doctor moved, so I went for a consultation with Dr. Govindasamy as she was one of the few family doctors that was accepting new patients. My biggest concern was my anxiety and related symptoms, but she didn’t focus on this at all. Instead she said that I should be more concerned about the fact that I’m not taking birth control, even though I explained I tried many types and experience severe side effects. She was speaking down to me, as if just because she’s a doctor she knows what is best for me. She didn’t focus one bit on my concerns. I certainly will be looking for a different family doctor.

Dr. Govindasamy is a very caring, considerate and excellent doctor. What I like most about Dr. Govindasamy is the fact that she makes you feel very comfortable and is so easy to talk to about any concerns whatsoever. I get very high anxiety around any health care professionals but feel fine talking with Dr. Govindasamy as she has a gift for putting her patients at ease and making them feel very comfortable. We are so fortunate to have her as our family physician.
