I recently had surgery performed by Salma Rahimi, M.D. and Olga Lieberman, M.D. Dr. Rahimi was the doctor I met with several times and I cannot say enough about her. She was kind and informative and I didn't have any pain after my surgery due to the techniques she used during my surgery. My recuperation time was minimal. The office staff is always friendly and helpful. Dr. Rahimi is a professional with a heart and I have recommended her to several of my friends and family members.

Back in October 2015 I had a medical procedure performed. The office staff was always available and very helpful from beginning to end. Dr. Rahimi's compassion and concern helped me get through the decisions that I had to make. I would highly recommend Dr. Rahimi and her practice.

I found Dr. Rahimi via a yahoo search for a urogynocologist. I had previously visited a urologist in Great Neck that was terrible. I got up from the exam table and left it was so bad. I’ll just dive right into my story…..Age - 34, divorced, children ages 14 & 6 via vaginal birth. Normal weight, I weight train and run at least 3 times a week and I’m celibate. During my first vaginal birth, my perineum tore very badly. I was only 20 and the midwife sewed me up like a football. I had no prominent symptoms until after the birth of my second child. I experience urinary incontinence but simply wore a maxi pad every day. I was also chronically constipated and had terrible hemorrhoids.
This past year I’d been suffering from at least two UTI’s and one yeast infection. I was baffled since I’m healthy with no allergies and not sexually active. The heaviness in my lower abdomen and groin also seemed to have gotten worse in the last year. By the end of the day, I felt like I was 7 months pregnant and they baby was pressing on my bladder. I mentioned these symptoms to my OBGYN for the past three years at least and she told me to just do kegel exercises. Finally after the last presumed yeast infection, I inserted my first two fingers in the vaginal canal during a shower only to notice a lump towards the front of my pelvis. I was freaked out and googled the symptoms to self-diagnose myself with a cystocele. I made an appointment with the Dr. Rahimi within a week.
The visit was quick, pleasant and to the point. It was worse than what I thought; I had a complete stage 2 uterine prolapse with a Cystocele, Rectocele, and Perineal Floor Relaxation. My treatment options were to do nothing, use a pessary or have the sacro-colpopexy, Urethral sling, and Perineorrhaphy. That was a lot to think about with young children, work and an active lifestyle but it did not take long to decide I wanted to pursue the most aggressive treatment option. During the consult, I asked in jest if they could remove some fat from my tummy during the surgery. Dr, Rahimi calmly gave me the name and number of the plastic surgeon they worked with to do just that. Within a week I was scheduled for an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) as well as the aforementioned surgeries. They would be done at the same time, using the same incision!!!! I frantically prepared for the surgery and constantly called Dr. Rahimi with questions and concerns. She patiently walked me through each procedure and returned all of my calls.
Two weeks post op and I’m still in mild discomfort but I am no longer constipated, no longer incontinent, and I have the vagina I had on my wedding night at age 18. This woman has given me my life back!!!! At 34, I was forced into life of celibacy and embarrassing scenarios because of my pelvic floor issues and in a matter of six weeks, I met Dr. Rahimi and she changed all of that. Her bedside manor was like a good girlfriend and she intuitive understood my unique needs while preserving my fertility, restoring vaginal tightness, improving the appearance of my genitals and coordinating the tummy tuck procedure. I am forever indebted to this woman.
