Everyone was pleasant and professional. I was a breast cancer patient for reconstructive surgery and they all helped to put me at ease during this frightening time for me. My breast results are very natural looking - so very, very, pleased!

Dr. Prucz was OUTSTANDING. He is very thorough and he explains everything very well. My lower leg amputation presented some unique procedures to perform and my knee replacement made it even more difficult. He was able to work with all of those things and my leg turned out great. It looks really good and very well could get fitted for a prosthetic sooner than expected. I am THRILLED with what Dr. Prucz did. Thank you!

From what I experienced, from the first appointment it felt like the whole clinical staff were my friends from a long time ago. Everyone has worked with professionalism since the first day. I would totally recommend.

Dr. Prucz and his team went above and beyond to answer all my questions and put my mind at ease before a reconstructive surgery. I had a large lipoma removed that would have left me disfigured but Dr. Prucz took the extra time in the OR to manipulate muscles and tissue to make me look like I did before the surgery. Although I will inevitably have a scar, I could not have picked a better surgeon. Thank you Dr. Prucz, you are amazing at what you do.

    Biography

Dr. Roni Prucz is an award-winning Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and PHOENIX Magazine Top Doctor for Plastic Surgery of the Face and Body. Dr. Prucz graduated Cum Laude and with Departmental Distinction from Duke University, where he earned dual degrees in biomedical and electrical engineering with a minor in political science. While at Duke, he was the recipient of multiple research awards for his work in tissue engineering and was a finalist in a national biomedical engineering design competition. During the same time, he became a Crew Chief for the Duke University Emergency response team, a position in which he first learned how to apply his methodical thinking and personal skills to helping people rather than building devices. Dr. Prucz attended medical school at Johns Hopkins University. While there he was mentored by some of the nation’s leading Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons, who taught him how to use his eye for detail and creative problem solving to repair and enhance the structures of the human body. With the support of his advisors, he earned a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training position at the University of Washington, one of the nation’s leading institutions for treating complex trauma, congenital anomalies, nerve injuries, and cancer. While at the University of Washington, Dr. Prucz served at the region’s only Level I trauma center, caring for all severely injured patients from the states of Washington, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Alaska. During this time, he acquired the skills and knowledge needed to repair almost any injury to the human face, hand, or body. He also developed unique skills for repairing vessels and nerves, performed a wide variety of microsurgical procedures, and participated in over a dozen brachial plexus reconstructions and upper extremity reattachments. He was also a member of the region’s largest breast reconstruction team. From using free flaps (the patient’s own abdominal tissue) to implants to fat grafting, Dr. Prucz participated in all aspects of breast surgical care. He also acquired unique skills for treating lymphedema, including lymph node transfers and lymphovenous bypass. While Dr. Prucz finds reconstructive surgery to be incredibly fulfilling, he also loves using his knowledge and skills to improve the quality of life of his patients. Thus, for the past several years, he expanded the skills he acquired while treating trauma and cancer patients to the development of novel tools and methods needed to enhance a person’s self-image. While the goals for aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries are not always the same, the surgical skills that allow the reconstruction of an entire face or breast frequently translate well into those needed for enhancing the nose, face, breast, and body. Throughout his career, Dr. Prucz has been a strong leader and educator. He has authored over a dozen nationally published and peer-reviewed articles, authored two book chapters, and presented his work at several national meetings. He has also been elected to serve as President or Vice-President of pertinent professional or societal organizations, starting with the Student Government in college and medical school and concluding most recently with his tenure as the Vice President of the Fellows and Residents at the University of Washington. Dr. Prucz has a natural ability to relate with others, explain his reasoning, and befriend those around him, which has always earned him the trust and respect of his colleagues and patients. He is now looking forward to earning the trust and respect of the citizens of Arizona and is available to respond promptly and competently to any of your reconstructive or cosmetic needs.
