My family doctor referred me to Dr. Tang, for a shoulder and hand issues. From the first time I met him and his staff, I knew that my care was going to be good.
Everyone was very professional, but very caring in the way I was treated. Dr. Tang took time with me, answered all my questions and set yp a program to move forward to get me feeling better. Great Doctor and Staff.

I had a minor surgery for a hand issue, but it couldn't have gone more smoothly. Dr. Tang knew right away what was wrong and how to fix it. He is very skilled and intelligent and has a wonderful staff as well. I was given clear information and instructions and would definitely return should I or my husband ever need to for any future problems. I knew I could trust Dr. Tang to fix my issue upon meeting him; he inspired my confidence almost immediately. I was pleased with how the procedure went and am grateful for the results.

I first met Dr. Tang in 2019 when my husband was experiencing carpal tunnel discomfort. I found both Dr. Tang and his staff to be courteous, helpful, and professional. When I subsequently fell and shattered my left wrist, there was no question in my mind that Dr. Tang was the physician I wanted to bring me back to health.
When I called Dr. Tang’s office, they fit me into their schedule immediately. Dr. Tang set the bone and applied the splint himself there in the office until he could get me in for the initial surgery I would need. His team made certain I left the office with full instructions on how to prepare surgery – and they had me scheduled and ready to go in only few days’ time.
On the day of surgery, Dr. Tang made sure to speak personally with both me and my husband before and after the 3 ½ hour procedure. I was sent home with phone numbers to use if needed; when I had occasion to call those numbers for pain management or with wound-related questions, I received immediate return calls from Dr. Tang and/or his staff. Follow-up appointments were efficient and I felt no hesitation contacting the team in the interim with questions. Dr. Tang and his team members listened to my concerns and answered my questions completely and in a way I could easily understand. I felt that everyone there was truly interested in making certain my recovery was as complete and as smooth as it could possibly be.
My injury was substantial – and I have been in and out of surgery and Dr. Tang’s offices for a full year. My hand and wrist feel stronger each day, and I am back to many of my usual routines and pastimes. Frankly, I find it hard to imagine a more positive, caring, and medically excellent doctor and team.

Had a follow-up following wrist fracture in vehicle accident. Will have another in 2 weeks. For an initial encounter with patient, i found Dr Tang extremely presumptuous and closeminded to Dr patient relations beyond his specialty. Seemed to question reason for appt. I was relieved he provided essential info relating to my injury as AGH provided little. Dr Tang seemed to dismiss i needed treatment guidance in favor of discriminatory "Dr Shopping" inferences after i self-disclosed treatment in methadone maintenance program. I was questioned on how i "occupy my day". Personally, a difficult question for me. As a 20-year Air Force retiree whose transition hampered by illness 10 years ago just months after a fully satisfying career. Dr Tang felt comfortable holding judgement. I better wrap this up. I'll go to my follow-up in 2 weeks. Any further appts I'll use my VA not vehicle claim. DrTang seemed not to believe i maintain my DoD insurance. Didnt believe i informed pain clinic of my broken wrist. I did. And if pain is intense. Short term use of breakthrough meds is acceptable. I needed this followup from ER visit that provided no info. Waited a week for more AGH pontfication. UPMC treats pain. Look, ive paid a high price dealing with commissioned Dr egos. I wander how Dr Tang feels about active fire zoned entrusted with pain managment decisions. Looling forward to final followup. Unless i decide to us tricare. Which you onviously believed i havent kept current. I want dr shopping. Had i allowed Va Pgh act as you do, my heart desease woud have. Killed me
See you at followup. Treat the physical ailments under your control. Last question. Why were you less than convinced i didnt brief meth clinic on broken wrist. See you the 29th. I'll still be in pain and youll still believe it matters not. I felt compelled to ask you please stick to your formal training (physical injuries). Give psycho BS a break.

I have to saw, I had carpal tunnel surgery, by Dr. Tang yesterday (1/17/19) and am able to type today. I was skeptical about selecting a physician I never met to work on my hands. My daughter whom is medical school told me to look at reviews and creditials. Dr. Tang’s background is second to none. His reviews however worried me. I’m here to say, none of what I read was true. His bedside manner was wonderful. His staff were very accommodatiyng and the facility was clean. I would recommend him to everyone. I also learned that half of the reviews left on his behalf was for a different Dr. Tang whom isn’t the orthopedic surgeon and there was no way of deleting the mishaps. I would not rely on other reviews that don’t specifically mention their procedure. Having a daughter in med school, has made me cautious with my health and those who treat it. I fully endorse and trust Dr Peter Tang and his entire staff.

Dr. Tang was so helpful when I returned from a trip to Germany with a broken wrist. The day after my return to the USA he fit me into his busy schedule and I was scheduled for surgery that same week. My recovery after surgery was excellent and I would highly recommend Dr. Tang to anyone who needs orthopedic surgery. I have had follow up visits every month and was always treated with upmost professional courtesy. Any concerns I had were carefully addressed and explained to my satisfaction. Dr. Tang is definitely a very skilled surgeon because my recovery was truly amazing.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR PETER TANG . I was stabbed in the neck, suffering a severe brachial plexus injury. I could not move my left arm or hand at all, it just hung at my side. I am an artist, mother of two and rely greatly on my hands. Dr Tang and his staff were absolutely amazing with my care. I am saddened by some of these reviews that say he has poor bedside manner. I did not find this with him at all. He is in fact very straightforward and to the point, but this does not mean that he does not care. I found him to be very patient with my questions and takes the time to explain procedures. My injuries took several surgeries to repair, but I now have the use of my arm and hand to where I can enjoy doing my artwork again. I highly recommend his skills as a surgeon.
