Dr Ahmed is a great doctor. Done a valve clip and doing great. Couldn’t ask for a better Doctor.

Dr Ahmed has helped several of my family members. Each time he interacts with us, he is kind and incredibly thorough. His team helps make sure any testing and visits are as efficient as possible. He is uniquely skilled at what he does. If you have any type of heart problem- this is the doctor you NEED to see.

There is so much I want to say about this great man and physician, his phenomenal staff at UAB and how he improved the quality of my life a thousand percent.
My heart was is such bad condition that led to cardiac arrest and the need for valve replacement.
I was fortunate enough to meet with Dr Ahmed to see if I qualified for the tendine mitral valve recipient program.
The initial pulmanary hypertension test showed that I wasn't even close to the numbers needed to approve the operation but Dr Ahmed believed in my potential to reach the target pressures.
His assurance and empathy for my condition moved me to follow his plan for me to have the operation that saved my life.
Yesterday I easily walked on my own across that long parking lot for my 2yr check up when before I couldn't even make it to my mailbox. It felt more like a family reunion.
Dr Ahmed, Dr Lewis and incredible staff healed my body and soul and I am eternally gratefull to have experienced their presence in my life.

He is the best in the world in fixing heart valves. His team explained everything thoroughly and kept updating me. They were available to answer all my questions after the procedure. The valve procedure was fast with no complications. Excellent doctor, highly reccomeded.

One year ago this week Dr. Mustafa Ahmed, a caring, young, fine, interventional cardiologist at UAB Medical Center performed a TAVR procedure on my 74-year-old heart. I will see him today for my yearly checkup, and in doing so, I hope to see the doctors, nurses, technicians, and practitioners who assisted him, especially one sweet, funny lady named Dorothy.
I have always been an extremely active individual; most say, “Hyper.” After teaching English in college and high school for 48 years, I retired in 2018, stayed out a year, and then went back into the classroom, teaching two half days a week dual enrollment English Comp I and II for Bevill State Community College and Lamar County schools. In March of last year, I started having dizzy episodes but attributed it to vertigo. In April one day, I went to class as usual but just did not feel right. I asked the nursing instructor (at the vocational school where I taught) if she would take my blood pressure. It was 208/100. She and the principal promptly called my husband who took me to Dr. Davis, our family physician in Vernon. He ordered an echocardiogram. When the results came back (severe aortic stenosis), he referred me to Dr. Proctor in Tuscaloosa. After he performed a heart cath, he told my husband and me that he was sending me to one of the best in Alabama – Dr. Ahmed.
Partly due to my claustrophobia, I was petrified, but Dr. Ahmed and his staff helped to relieve some of my anxiety. I only had to stay in the hospital one night because my heart rhythms had to get back in sync. Two weeks later I was on my zero turn, mowing our yard as I have done for over 50 years. I saw Dr. Ahmed back in January for my six-month checkup; I was doing great.
I just finished my fourth years teaching dual enrollment and plan to continue one more year; that will make 53 years of teaching. The Lord blessed me with Dr. Mustafa Ahmed; he literally saved my life. I truly look forward to seeing that sweet smile of his today, AND he is quite a “cutie.”

Dr. Ahmed entered the room without really saying hello to us. He spent only a couple of minutes in the room, and did not seem interested in our asking him any questions. I thought his bedside manner was nonexistent. Everybody else from the front staff to all of the nurses, including all in the operating room, was just fantastic. They all made me feel very much at ease. I loved everybody except Dr. Ahmed. I would not recommend him to anybody. I want it made clear that all of the nurses and staff were great. I couldn't have cared less for Dr. Ahmed, though! They did a left-sided heart catheter on me on 06-17-22.----Charles Neal Kennamer
