Like others, I did research and ended up having Dr. Silverstein do my kyphoplasty procedure. Not only is he knowledgeable in his field but I was impressed as to why he got in this line of work. His father suffered from back pain and he knew that he wanted to help others as a result . This truly impressed us and then to have him do my procedure was a wise choice. Although a very good and busy doctor, he took time to explain all options and was not pushy . I would and have already told others about him who have been unhappy with their current doctor. I hope he stays in our area for a LONG time....Thank you, Dr. Michael Silverstein....if I have anymore issues, I know who I'm going to call.

Dr. Silverstein is an amazing doctor. He has left Jewett as I was his last surgery. Does anyone know where he is now?

Dr. Mike is amazing. He was patient, explained everything clearly, and was so real, that we felt like we were talking to a friend (a very talented friend!) We felt we could ask him anything and he took the time so we clearly understood. His staff was wonderful, on time and his aftercare was thorough. I don't like nausea and the "being out-of-it" feeling from heavy surgery meds, so he managed the pain of the extensive back surgery really well, with alternating medications, so I could focus on healing. When it's easy to feel vulnerable and unsure, his confidence was apparent and well earned.

P.S. I did a lot of research before choosing Dr. Michael Silverstein and saw some reviews that I quickly figured out were Workmans' Comp cases where someone is upset because he can't and won't unethically give them a fake diagnosis so they can scam the system for free money. I thought it was BS when I read it, and after having worked with him, it really upsets me that they would be malicious.

After doing pain management for the better part of 3 years, it came down to needing spinal surgery. I wanted the best given what was at stake, and my research led me to Dr. Michael Silverstein. From my very first consultation Dr. Silverstein went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and to come up with a care plan and when it came down to it the best surgical option for my injury.

The procedure I had done was: L4, L5 posterior lumbar decompression and fusion with bone graft and instrumentation

For 3 years I was in so much pain in day to day activities like sitting and walking. Post surgery my injury pain was gone immediately.

Dr. Silverstein has given me my life back and I am so grateful. I don't remember feeling this good.

Dr. Silverstein is very knowledgeable, personable, easy to talk to and takes the time needed to answer all your questions plus he's the best of the best and I would recommend him 1000%.

I am very satisfied with the surgery that Dr. Silverstein conducted on July 28th, 2020. His skill and expertise provided me complete relief from the L4 & L5 nerve pain I was feeling and really gave me back my life. I am now able to do most of the activities that I did before and after my recovery period I look forward to playing golf and going to the gym. Thanks again Dr. Silverstein for your help. I am most grateful.

I had a herniation at L5-S1 that was causing me indescribable pain. Dr. Silverstein, from my initial visit, had incredible bed side manner and worked swiftly to make sure I had the surgery needed. He is trained with the latest in minimally invasive surgery, and I could not believe how much better I was, and how quick, after surgery. He left me with only a small scar, but a huge amount of gratitude. From easing my pain as much as possible up to surgery, to the post-surgery follow up, I couldn't have been more pleased with his mannerisms, professionalism, and skill. Only two weeks after surgery, and I am almost back to normal and almost completely pain free!

I feel blessed to have found Dr. Silverstein. He is an extremely caring doctor. He takes time to listen to you and he never seems rushed. He answers all your questions and throughly reviews all your options and the risks. He has personally followed up with me after MRIs and surgery. His bedside manner far exceeds any expectation. I always found it easy to get ahold of him or his caring nurse or staff for anything I needed.
Of course, he is also a very talented surgeon. From the moment my surgery was over my nerve pain was gone and my incision has healed beautifully.
I’m picky when looking for a doctor. I’m a nurse and work with some amazing doctors and have high expectations for doctors that care for me. I want someone with the skills to take care of my problems and the bedside manner to joke and put me at ease.
It’s a scary proposition to try to find a doctor to help with your back/nerve pain. You hear multiple horror stories, tales of chronic pain after surgery, well intentioned friends tell you what to do. I personally heard multiple times to see a neurosurgeon, and to get a second opinion, and to never let anyone do back surgery on me. Sometimes you just have to trust your gut. I’m glad I did.
I know I’m not always the easiest patient...I’ve never felt so scared, helpless, or had such severe unrelenting nerve pain. I feel like Dr. Silverstein treated me like family, and for that, I am forever grateful.
