He ruined my shoulder! When I complained about pain, he didn’t even come close to me to hear the grinding noises that were coming from moving my arm. I have been to 2 different Orthopaedic surgeons and both agreed that what Dr Barnard did to my shoulder was a pretty aggressive approach that was not needed. I’m living in pain after 3 years and don’t have full range of motion! Please run as fast as possible from him!

I received exemplary care from the front desk by Ebony; then again by Dr Barnard's Nurse Jessica, and again by his Ortho Tech Julia.

OMG they all were so pleasant and attentive and KIND :)

After a very serious accident in the summer of 1997, Dr. Brian Barnard stopped in the emergency room as he was leaving the Altamonte Springs hospital and found that I had been patiently waiting for an orthopedic surgeon. I later found out that Dr. Bernard had been in surgery since 6:30 that morning, he stepped to my emergency room bed at around 7 pm that night. With no hesitation, he told all to prepare for surgery on both hands. The transcripts that were later read documented that this surgery took well over 5 hours. We worked together for almost 2 years & 5 surgeries on my hands and later multiple surgeries on my shoulders. I have always walked out of his office knowing that not only is he dedicated to his work but to me as the patient and my well being. Over the last 17 years I have sent family members, friends and of course myself again to the most competent, caring & kind person in the medical field that I have ever known. He is responsible for giving me and participating in a quality of life that I may not have known if he didn't take the time and care that he puts into his practice and all those that he works with.
My most recent surgery is 2013 was due to a football related accident and of course my immediate call that he answered personally was again for help. 2 years later that particular surgery has helped me reestablish incredibly strength and flexibility in a shoulder that would have somewhat been compromised if the best surgeon had not performed the surgery.
Thank You for the personal care that you have always shown me! Paul Rodriguez

Expect a long wait (avg. 1 hr) after your scheduled appointment. Torn Labrum surgery was not succesfull. Still in pain 1 year later, now I have possible nerve damage with continous muscle spasms on biscep. At first, he will come across as a knowledgeable "nice" doctor but unfortunately he's overconfident in his surgery skills and after surgery did not give clear instructions and limitations for re-hab yet blamed the problem on the physical therapist. Side arm lift versus external rotation is not the same thing. After 6 months the arrogance came accross, did not want to believe the labrum was re-torn and denied he did anything wrong and then misled me in the actual recovery time. At first saying it normally takes 4 to 6 months, then lies and says he didn't say that because it takes up to 9 months for the anchors to heal but kept me in re-hab making the problem worse. I've lost all trust in this Doctor and will have to seek another shoulder specialist to fix the botched up surgery.
