I’m so confused by the great reviews. I have never felt like Dr Long was compassionate with my Dtr. My son, he seems ok, no issues, but he has always seemed to judge my dtr. He is not my Dr but I attended all their appointments from the time he took them on when Dr Stamler retired. He generally seems judgemental of her mental health struggles, ADHD and chronic pain condition. While still young enough we would see the peadiatrician whenever possible, but once that was no longer an option seeing the Dr became anxiety ridden. She called to ask if it was possible to have another Dr in the clinic, after a visit several months ago where she felt belittled, and was told they don’t do that by a staff that responded as though she was ridiculous for asking, so I attended her most recent appointment and when she asked about a condition that produces daily pain, she was met with comments like “that’s your life” etc. No referrals, no encouragement. This came after some pretty poor choices of words regarding another issue. Then, when becoming emotional at feeling that same attitude that someone with mental health and invisible illnesses meets so often, she was met with condescending “well I’m trying to have a mature discussion….” I’ve seen him one way with my son and another way with my daughter, which has been a red flag for me since day one. My daughter has witnessed it as well, and has never trusted him because of this. It’s a sad state of health care when you are a young person with multiple medical conditions and feel overwhelmed but are faced with judgement instead of empathy. It’s a chronic problem at the emergency as well, where he also practices I believe.

My child md husband have Dr. Long as well and he listens to our concerns every time we see him. He is very knowledgeable and compassionate. It’s reassuring knowing I have him as a family doctor.

Punctual and patient. Always listens to the problem and prescribes natural remedies before medications. Gives great exercises for physical and mental health and really seems brilliant and sincere

The BEST doctor I have ever had!! I am so grateful to have him as my family physician. So many times I have been talked down to or rushed out of a doctor's office. But Dr. Long actually takes the time to listen and diagnose the problem. He doesn't just guess at the easiest conclusion, he eliminates possibilities and takes time to explain in-depth any questions I may have. Every visit to him is pleasant and I really feel that he is thorough and truly cares about looking after his patients. I also feel involved in my health care and it's so nice to feel comfortable asking questions or raising concerns without being scolded.
